So Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee were aimed at a more casual audience to try to get fans of Pokemon Go more into the games. Because of this, they implemented a friendship mechanic that made the game a LOT easier and welcoming to new players. Your Pokemon could land more frequent critical hits, get rid of status conditions on their own, and even survive hits that would have taken them out (aka basically plot armor). So Pikachu essentially weaponized the mechanic made for casual players in this video lmao

The ground type doesn't resist fire type moves. But ground type moves ARE super effective against fire types.

@@elcalacas221 Type matchups aren't just rock paper scissors. In this case, Ground type moves beat fire types, but Ground type pokemon do not take reduced damage from fire type moves

My guess was that they didn’t do Mega evolutions because that’s not the theme of this battle, otherwise, they would have done this in every previous battle royale (excluding Baby and Gigantimax)
And that they required trainers to even mega evolve
It's because they already did Megan
They explained in the first battle royale that since mega evolution requires a trainer, the pokémon wouldn’t be able to access it alone and thus couldn’t use it. I assume the same logic holds here.
Yeah, my big issue visual-wise was Swampert getting screwed over by monkey who already fainted.

@chainsawboy2388 by visual I mean what is showdown in the animation. Rillaboom already being defeated, but coming back just to get rid of Swampert. If he survived that long in the fight and took Swampert down with him that'd sit better with me, not just being an excuse to take him out.
You think that's bad? The ending to the fight I'd argue was even worse.
It's like if Death Battle did Goku Vs Naruto, but then they decided to have Goku throw the fight when he could have easily won, and then they explain why Naruto would beat Goku
@justintime2461 you mean the 'didn't faint so you wouldn't feel bad' moments? Nah I'm fine with that, it's the only reason Pikachu would be able to even stand up to Blaziken. It's also a mechanic in the newer games that any pokemon can use through the grooming/care mini pet-care mode, and it was more for comedic purpose as to how often it occurred.
45:43 Choice scarf ends up conflicting with the ability, as your locked into 1 move unless you switch out, whereas speed boost is an exponential spd incease that will eventually get higher than the choice scarf boost
I think he was trying to think of another held item of the same...category? Like, isn't there one that buffs either Special Attack or Critical Hit Ratio with the same restriction? But either way, with a Blaziken that sweeps with a string of one-hit KOs after a couple turns of setup anyway, Life Orb is definitely a better choice.
Those 3 were ones that escaped the previous battle royales through being eliminated through other means, they were in the mega battle royale, they are the most prominent in the end credits scenes, after they jumped in Gmax Gengar’s mouth they realized how many simulations there has been with the help of Mega Alakazam, this could hint that each battle royale is done with PC Pokémon and those three are the first to escape in one piece thanks to the help of sudowoodo

The pikachu surviving is actually Let’s Go pikachu, where they added this thing where high friendship with your partner meant that it would never die (well not exactly “never”), oh yeah also crits and stuff

they are not doing mega evolutions in this video because they already did an animation on it
Megas are not included because Megas require a bond with their trainers for it to activate with the exception of Legendaries. There's no trainers here

I REALLY love how TerminalMontage draws Pokemon, they can be simultaneously cute and cool at the same time! Gnoggin's video was definitely informative, but I find his personality rather obnoxious if I'm being honest. Thanks to it, I now realize the joke of Blastoise blasting water from its head, like I remember Venasaur having bloodshot eyes from Pokemon Stadium but not that for some reason.

Poor Vaporeon! First, it gets creepypasta-ed, then it gets eliminated almost immediately in a Starter Battle Royale by its own kin, then its electrocuted-to-a-crisp body is frozen solid by another, and then it falls over and shatters in a stock glass-break effect.

I think the whole Pikachu constantly surviving against Blaziken thing was at least partially because Pikachu is such a popular Pokemon and also the official mascot.

Venusaur learns all times of status effect powders, toxins and leech seed. Making it killer every time it gets you in a death spiral of status and damage over time.
Meganium is a tank who also learn powders but no toxins. It CAN moves to heal itself directly. If Meganium could learn leech seed, it'd be overpowered. Meganium's kid learn leech seed. As it along with the other Jhoto starters were intentionally meant to be replaced by their offspring especially in their first game where breeding was introduced.
Sceptile is quick and sucks the life out of you. The only thing not going for it, is its moderate life pool, but otherwise, it is set to dodge hits and use drain moves to get its way.
Torterra is grass swampert, but much slower and more grassy. Knows no spore moves, not that it'd be in its best interests anyway.
Serperior is a stat booster. Relying on nothing else but its growth to be unstoppable. Of course, it knows no spore moves.
Chestnaught is block first, punish later. And boy it doesn't get far with even that thanks to its speed stat.
Decidueye aims to strike from advantageous positions and score a quick win. No spores. Just hit first or hide then hit. If neither don't work, it's screwed.
Rillaboom aims to disrupt. Relying on an ability? Worry seed! Relying on going fast? Drum Beating! Wanna go first? Lol no. No spore moves.
Meowscarada is there to play tricks on you to knock you out instantly. Loaded with moves that can hit crits easily and with the speed to do so, even against the games' faster troublemakers. If the first trick didn't get you, the follow-up usually does. Otherwise Meowscarada is squishy. Yeah, no spore moves.
From what i got at the end... those 3 Pokémon are pokemon that somehow survived the mega Pokémon battle royale and escaped into the box sistem of the computer by using Gmax gengar from the Dynamax battle royale (especifically the part where Gmax gengar is targetting garbodor)
Wend i originally saw pseudowodo noticing them, i thought he was gonna release them
But for some reason he brough them into reality like a normal Pokémon would be turned wend their in a box
So now there's 3 Pokémon that originated for destruction in a digital world that have been brought into reality
Typhlosion losing to charizard felt wild to me when charizard gets clapped by a single rock type move or an eruption but they prolly wouldn’t have won anyway. Also samurott solos infernape and they can’t change my mind.
The ultra beast is a reference to the ultra worlds in ultra sun/Moon they have starters and nagandal is a starter in it's world ultra space

37:15 Ash's Pikachu is absurdly strong, but at the end of the day he's not THAT ridiculous. If there's anything you can learn from Ash's league runs, it's that Pikachu sure as shit not able to carry the team. This was exemplified the most in the Black and White era where Ash had his 2nd worst team ever full of failed underdogs, clowns, one trick ponies, and complete lack of growth.
Ash's most worst team will always be his first team. Y'know.... where Ash lost proving that being a good boy wasn't good enough and also cuz Charizard threw the game.
Vast majority of the ending scenes in their videos all link together in some way. Like one big story

Honestly Grovyle could also win looking at explorers of sky it would stronger than any of the final evo starters since it's one of the 3 pokemon that beat a primal dialga and if given time gear like it was here could do shiny shenanigans, and weird Blaziken was given speed boost since it wouldn't naturally get it in the wild
So, technically wild Pokémon _can_ have their Hidden Abilities- after the rework in Gen 6, Pokémon with Hidden Abilities do spawn in the wild, but they're significantly rarer. That said, the one given to you by a Pokémon professor is locked to its starter Ability, mostly for game balance purposes.
Not gonna lie I kind of F hate Pikachu because it never evolves as a starter... I'm always like "Nah, straight to the PC and this route 1 Pidgey would be my starter Pokémon"

Not only are they not a fundamental part of their identity, it's temporary and always was never going to be in every game going forward. That much was obvious from the start. Even if you missed that, it was even more obvious in 7th gen (sun and moon) where they were clearly weaning people of the shit.

There is one big error in the analysis. The Ground-type doesn't resist Fire-type moves - that would be the Rock-type (which none of these starters have).
