Suggestion: I used to do a lot of crafts for sale when I was younger. I discovered that framing shops in my area threw away 'miscuts' and 'scraps' of mat board that were perfect for a lot of things I was making. But they had a LOT of this. Hhhmmm...I thought...they are throwing this away..there has got to be someone who can use it.☺️I wound up collecting from every shop that would give me what they had- one even gave me all of the beautiful Free Art Magazines left over they had. I divided all of these up into equal piles. The local Elementary School Art teacher, the Salvation Army's Childrens Program, and then someone told me about a program with our local Comprehensive Care Center that had a group program for children that incorporated art into their therapy. You do so many projects- why not set aside a box and for your scraps & donate them.

Couldn't you have taped the boards, then covered the boards w/the fabric, glued/stapled the sides down to fit snug & traced out the lines for the silver tape on top of the fabric & then put the tape on the lines?
Either way...Im gonna try it how I just described. Wish me luck.
