When most people hear the name ‘TVR’, they think of impetuous performance, voluptuous designs and crazy colour schemes, or in short, all the things that company boss Peter Wheeler brought to the table during his ownership.
But before the Chimaera and Cerbera hit the forecourt, the more back-to-basics S was helping the Blackpool business to survive, acting as a humble, ‘entry-level’ car within the range.
This ‘humble’ TVR however was still a super-spirited, sprightly machine surpassing the competition and TVR’s initial expectations for its success.
In this two part DoCARmentary, we’re delving into the ‘success of the S’ and in this video (part 1) we look at how this beautiful machine came about in the first place…
