I was wondering why Paige didn't stay on stage and improvise but you can see as she's walking off shes totally defeated. Abby really was toxic to some of those girls.
I honestly don’t think she forgot! I think she was terrified and just couldn’t dance in front of that woman. I like Abby a lot, but she was so bad to Paige, Brooke and Chloe in the end. She was bad to Nia at times but was better towards the end. Maddie and Mackenzie when they announced they were leaving she was bad to them too.
Abby was bad to Maddie and Mackenzie too. Comparing Mackenzie to Maddie probably made Mackenzie feel terrible. And constantly telling Maddie that no one is happy for her when she wins is a horrible thing to say.
It's really sad because the show was a great platform and dance should be fun but Abby's method of teaching is a lot like bullying. She just says whatever comes into her head without really considering or caring that her students are young, impressionable and that they look up to her. Some of the things she said to those kids could really damage their self-esteem for years afterward.
Maddie isn't really getting extra treatment cause like you can go to Maddie interviews on television and you will hear her saying she hates dance moms and that just goes to show Abby was harsh to all the girls or cast members
I did feel very sorry for Maddie tbh, Abby might have said nice words to her but she put a lot of pressure on that kid and at times isolated her from her teammates.

Paige's time as a dance teacher was well past its expiry dance. She was doing it to be famous rather than because she loved dance. Except at that age hard work is required. As Abby says, she wasn't going to regular classes so she wasn't learning the tools she needed to be able to remember dances and perform them well
Paige herself said here and elsewhere that she did want to improve and that she did believe Abby could help her toward that goal--the problem was that if there's a choice of being reasonable in making corrections or being hateful, Abby seemed to go for the hateful.

I 100% believe that Paige forgetting was caused by Abby. Paige even said that she was AFRAID of Abby. This is just another example of the girls being emotionally abused Abby and getting affected on stage.

Call it yet another case of Abby not being able to add two and two--I believe she was serious when she said that she wouldn't set any of her dancers up to fail, yet truly didn't understand that constant ridicule and over-the-top nastiness might in fact have a bad effect on a kid's confidence.

Kelly’s breakdown to Abby is one of the most heartbreaking moments in Dance Moms history. 😢💔 Not only was the ironclad, cold-hearted Abby Lee getting teary-eyed, but even the other dance mothers were getting tears in their eyes as well. 😭

she didn't forget. she was scared. a fear response. people freeze in fear. paige is beautiful.
This was by far the saddest episode of Dance Moms. This is a perfect example of narcissistic abuse/other mental abuse. Even today, when you watch Paige's videos, you can tell that she's not the same that she was in childhood. It's gonna take time for her to get back to where she was.
The way Paige was treated at the ALDC brings tears, she’s such an underrated dancer, everything that happened brought down her confidence. ❤️❤️

Matthew W but there's a lot of pressure on those girls not all of them are the same. You can't expect a child to always be perfect, look I myself have forgotten my routine too. Nobody's perfect.
Every dancer forgets their dance and it doesn't matter how much you've forgotten your routine, and Abby scares Paige that's why and so as the other girls.

This dance would have been beautiful if she wasn’t so anxious and nervous. I feel so bad for Paige, it’s like nothing she does is ever good enough for Abby! I’m glad she got out of this toxic environment and is now out living her life without Abby yelling at her every two minutes. Abby, you are NOT the best thing for Paige.
MultiFandom McDobs Sadly Abby was never the best thing for any of the girls. Even though she did make them stars and deserves credit for their fame, the majority of the dancers on the show no longer speak to her. I think the only exceptions are JoJo, Brynn, Maesi, Elli and Lilly. I think Nia MIGHT talk to her still but I’m not sure. I know the others do. Even her star, Maddie, no longer speaks to her. Neither does Mackenzie, Chloe, Paige, Brooke, Kalani or Kendall.
what’s sad is that apparently paige still has panic attacks and severe anxiety and she’s been off the show for almost 5 years. it just goes to show what that woman has done to kids

This show combined with Abby Lee was such a toxic combination, it just escalated things between Kelly, her daughters and Abby Lee... Not to mention the fact that Kelly and a lot of the other moms had many breakdowns throughout the show, especially this season for Kelly. Even Brooke, Chloe, Kendall, Maddie, Nia, Paige and many other little girls had breakdowns and anxiety attacks(!!!) during the show too, with Mackenzie crying after numerous performances whenever she made *one* misstep during a dance number. This also ruined some girls’ love for becoming a better dancer and even deterred them from dancing altogether. Several fights transpired and drove different mothers to the edge, and it even started effecting and influencing their daughters. This is NOT good T.V. If +Lifetime does a re-boot, THEY DO NOT NEED TO FOLLOW THIS FORMULA AGAIN. The fans love seeing the dancing, camaraderie, healthy competition, *non-manufactured* drama, and above all, following dancers and their supportive parents seeing them grow up and graduate to successful and determined-to-succeed dancers.
I agree with everything u say here, and I also think that Kelly and Christie also need to take some ownership in the way things went down between them, their daughters and Abby. All the toxicidity, screaming, backstabbing and lying can come to no good end. Also, both of the Mums talked a lot about Abby hating the girls, setting them up to lose, favouring Maddie, etc, etc IN FRONT OF THE GIRLS, and probably even more so in private, which was wrong, if perhaps understandable. How can u expect ur child to go in and do their best for a teacher that u have told them time and time again, hates them?? Abby was right about 1 thing in another episode when she said that because of the moms constantly doing this, that she couldn't then get the girls to trust her (although she herself didn't help things 1 bit, regardless if it was scripted or not). It was just a horrible situation where fame, greed, money grabbing and power hungry mother, tv producers and Abby herself. did these things for drama and fame and money, and these girls paid the price in lots of ways.

@@sapphire22011 the only times you really saw Christi and Kelly yelling were when Abby treated the kids poorly, or when the producers had them and the other moms cause some kind of drama with each other for the sake of the show. You can not blame them for doing their jobs as parents and standing up for their children and others’ especially when they had a contact with the show that they had to fulfill even when they wanted to leave the studio. There were multiple times where Christi tried having calm conversations without the girls around, but Abby ignored her until it became too much. Abby lost the trust of the girls because of the way she treated them. How do expect someone to trust you when you constantly tell them they are horrible or refuse to call them by their name like she did to Chloe. The problem was Abby even Maddie and Mackenzie don’t associate themselves with her because she was constantly turning their friends against them. None of the girls were blind as they got older they it was very clear to them what Abby was doing.
Looks like Abby really does have a heart... she almost cried when Kelly cried. ❤️

Ngl the way Paige was treated and how much the whole thing affected her emotionally it's heartbreaking. She deserves so much better. All of the girls did. Poor girl. Also, can we just appreciate how much Melissa loves and cares about Paige, like when she just forgot the dance and ran off she was crying, and it's just so sweet to see that at least some people treated her right there.

Poor Paige. She knew that dance. The only thing holding her back was her anxiety of Abby, which she was focusing heavily on instead of the dance. If she hadn't had a terrible week leading up to the competition, she probably would've done way better and maybe would've won.

I actually cried watching this because Paige was my favorite girl even up until now and I feel terrible for her cause she started off great cause she had great choreography and had a boost of confidence from Ricky and she started with great technique and if she had kept on going and finished the solo I could see her placing high maybe even winning and also Jill needs to be quiet with the that’s not her forte thing can hush cause Paige always slay contemporary in groups or duos or trios she can do it it’s just no one wanted to challenge her and Push her up to where she felt she could do it on her own
For those saying that Paige forgot her dance, I honestly think it was because of Abby. She was doing everything spot on, then she looked among the crowd and I bet that she looked at Abby RIGHT in the eye. She thought she was doing something wrong or bad, thus, getting nervous and running of stage. Poor girl, I hope she has recovered and it was for the best to leave the Dance Studio.

If you think about it, even though Abby kept saying that Paige wasn’t ready for a solo like this, she still made that costume for her which was beautiful and looked expensive. I think that shows that she had a little faith in her.

In 2022, I wish I can see Paige doing this solo again. The costume is the most beautiful costume I've ever seen on dance moms. I felt so sad and sorry for Kelly’s daughter Paige, not only has she suffered from an anxiety attack, but also she went through this toxic relationship with Abby and it was very difficult and stressful for her and for the whole ALDC team.😢

The first dance is for the judges. The second dance is for the cameras and the judges leave the room.
Usually they do it twice(one for cameras and judging). Ppl at the competition have confirmed she was so upset doing it the first time, she refused to do it a second time.
