Go to Program files(86) 2. found the steam folder 3. completely delete the steam folder off my computer 4. reinstalled steam and it worked Hope this helps

Third option worked for me but when I restarted I realized it deleted everything about steam off my pc I mean it's fixed but that's 100s of games I have to reinstall but nice vid

@@moist_lmaonaise Before following the steps you wrote i redownloaded steam as i had uninstalled it and strangely steam was working, thank you anyway, if one day steam no longer works i would do what you marked but if not for the moment it works .
I uninstalled steam using the uninstall option in the folder, then reinstalled and it worked again. Ive tried everything else, but that was what worked for me.
@@baltastanich1278 You can copy save data to a safe space before you uninstall. As well as the game files themselves, so you wont need to reinstall. You'll have to look up where to find the data though, as I don't remember nor do I want to misguide you.
In my case this error occurred during the first run after Steam installation. I just reopened Steam app from the Start menu and it opened properly without any problems.

I can't fokin download steam at all I reinstalled windows and everytime I try downloading it shows updating and then keeps on going back in the download like it shows 100,000kb downloaded and then it jumps back to 10kb or something what can I do?
i have a fix go into windows c drive go to programs 86x and find steam folder go in and delete all files in that then try downlod steam again and put it in its reguler steam folder good luck! also if it wont delete bc of something running go into task manager and end all tasks to do with steam including wallpaper engine and other apps to do with steam
If you have this problem just know that the first 2 don’t work that well but the 3rd one works almost every time.

On my computer "steam.exe" isn't too, but it's because the name is just "steam" don't have the ".exe" but say "application" so I guess it's the same.

The first method worked for me, but my laptop decided to call "Steam.exe" just plain "steam" which was pretty confusing. Thanks for the guide!
