Baz, I started serving my time as a 30 year old adult on a big site. Started as a labourer at 25 and walked away 20 years later as the site engineer. Please don’t overlook adult semi skilled labourers as potential apprentices because for the right candidate, their commitment and potential will be very rewarding!

Great episode boys ,and what’s amazing is haw every one is helping out and just shows you that there are still some great people out there ,And a linde fork lift truck I’ve driven them since i was 18 i’m 44 now they’re bloody good trucks especially if you look after them they will go on for years.

Baz that chapter speaks volumes about how highly you are regarded in business. People like the man from Everytrade hit the nail on the head when he said you’ve done a lot for him in the past even by mentioning his business then we had the one who wanted the low loader extended saying don’t bother about a quote just do it knowing you would be fair on pricing the chap with the fork lift i could go on and on and when you said I’m renaming the van Bella blue after your daughter it shows how you are also a lovely family man. Loved the idea about sometime in the future you hope to start some one on an apprenticeship as my eldest son had a 5 year one and he’s still with the same company 34 years on. 👏👏👏👏

You took me back a few years on pricing up jobs.
When you know your trade. you can give a prices based on experience. An old boss from years ago would ask me to give a price. He would then go and price it up on an excel spread sheet, which took quite a while to list all the parts and time scales to do the work. More often than not, I would be not far off his calculations and he could not understand how I did it. His boss needed the detail so it met the accountants requirement for tracing back, in case anything went wrong when the job was completed. I suspect its even more strict now days for tracing back on costings.

The last employer I worked for in n.Ireland and age 40, six years ago making and fixing digger buckets 30+50tone buckets,farm machinery Volvo lorry low-loaders and more.I supplied my own boots overalls not even air fed welding mask.£10 per hour. I started out welding when I was 17 I’ve done steel buildings.bull bars.designed and made recovery trucks.digger rams.there was nothing I couldn’t weld.
Another good week with baz cal and the director!! Still working to the highest of standards even working on their own. Keep smashing it lads. Ad for maybe 2 a week yes yes yes please ! More welderfabber the better. Enjoying the ride so fa, looking forward to the journey and the future to see what’s to come.

Your a different person than when I first started watching your channel.
But in a good way different it looks like you got your bounce back.
You had motivation before and always gave 100% with the Fox group but now you've dropped a gear and the turbo has kicked in.
Fair play to you big steps but I think them old yrs you had with the other businesses you had it's time to bury them memories bud.
As I learned from my business I lost due to bad choices in business partners I needed to go backwards to be able to move forwards.
But we never stop learning experiences are priceless bad or good it just wasn't the right time in your life.
But now is Baz for you all.
