Well...What a tale of 2 totally different Festival experiences...
Firstly - All of The Good 😁
It started absolutely seamlessly! Everything went off without any issues at all! No traffic, no queues, we meet everyone super quick and all got camped in Midgard togetherish. And It's an absolutely perfect festival! Make no mistake, it's spot on for the Community vibe we all have & Love. Bloodstock is definitely a meeting point for a few hundred of my closest mates that don't live close and we spend hours catching up & sharing stories.

I'm amazed at how many people quote certain things back to me that I've said in old videos & repeat flippant comments! I absolutely loved catching up with you all 🖤 and really did my best to at least get a quick "Hi & Bye" on camera! Especially in the first 2 days! All such positive stuff! & It's great to see we're making an impact on your lives by just screwing around & being ourselves. + The videos are now sponsored by The London Metal Coalition.🤘🏻
The highlights band wise:
🤘🏻HATE!!🤘🏻 They were exactly what I needed! But so early! & We hadn't slept!!! 😂
Killswitch Engage (I was always a Howard guy) but they absolutely smashed it! & Took me by surprise.
Abbath I have never seen them be that good!!! 😂 I have seen him many times be sloppy as fuck but this was a good show!
Decapitated - My neck still hurts from headbanging that fast!!! 🤘🏻😎🍻 Exactly what we needed!
Lokust what a turn out! It was cool to meet so many people who went to the show, on my CZcams recommendation! I tried to get this on camera as much as possible, I was shocked that it had that kind of influence!!
& Kinda the same thing with Sanguinem!!! It was so cool to follow their story from winning London Metal 2 the Masses to playing Bloodstock. That Live performance was so much better than the recordings!
The Bad
Unfortunately one of the worst things I've ever witnessed happened at this festival...
After Abbath we had gone back to Camp for more drinks. Whilst walking up to the toilet, I walked into the scene, slowly figuring out it's where my friends were camped & That Vyte had passed away in his tent.
Going from such a fucking high to watching that, was the biggest emotional drop I've personally ever had. Total silence...The Bloodstock staff & security were respectful & handled it as best as they could. Watching Debs give that speech to us lot after waiting for what felt like hours was too much for me...I couldn't cope & was a crying mess. So if any of us seemed off on the following day thats why. So many of us are still in shock & it really hasn't sunk in at all...
But we all stayed, we finished the festival, it's definitely what he would have done/wanted & my hope is that our little group of mates really pull's together & support/ check in on eachother through the following few weeks/months & most importantly the now empty feeling Gigs. Because he was at absolutely everything with us! A gentle giant & Absolute Fucking Legend.

On the way home
4 miles from Oxford services our car had ESP failure & suddenly went into Limp mode on the motorway & so we had to crawl down the hard shoulder 😂 I managed to reset the ECU at the services and got the thing 9.5 hours home, but it was a tough one! We passed out nearly straight away and my Mac completely broke whilst uploading the footage so hopefully thats not corrupted & I'll be working on the next series of Bloodstock Vlogs throughout this week. As usual 7PM & I will do the LiveChats🤘🏻and will be spending a few hours catching up on all of the messages I've (Not) ignored!

It was great to meet you at Bloodstock, Billy. I was the slightly inebriated Irish man who bumped into you early Saturday evening in the main stage area, rambling some nonsense but what I was trying to say was that watching your videos prior to my first Bloodstock trip was fantastic and gave me a real insight before coming to the festival. Keep up the awesome blogging. \m/

@@billymayhem had a great time mate. Vido Pt1 is up. Trying to get Pt2 out soon but got a another bike thing to film tomorrow so prepping for that. Think I'm going to get wet. I would actually have come down for that thing you're plugging to death but I've got Orkney Rock Fest that weekend and that's a no miss event. Stonedead the week before and then a wee quiet spell thank fuck before November gig silliness again. I was amazed I missed you, found quite a few other YTers. Just getting to the stage where people recognise me now, one guy even told me he'd just seen you! 🤣

The whole thing was just fucking funny, we definitely went overboard with it but laughed the whole way through.
And yeah the first few times is so strange, but it does become the norm & It gets easier. It's the stalkers & nutters that I found tough! Got some mad stories about that like the time a couple tried to recruit me for a threesome & she bit me 😂
But yeah got a few of the other festival CZcamsrs on this series, was just so fucking busy! - would love to do a car/bike event too! But the beer is crazy expensive at Silverstone it was ridiculous!

Just finished it. Was driving before.. Yeah definitely good vibes on the way in. Definitely helps start the festival the right way! I literally let out some wee laughing at the jags new bonnet mantle 🤣 sorry to hear about your friend. Definitely sobering and I'm sure you all took some time out to reflect and remember them.
It was a tough one to get through after we found out mate yeah! It really was. Such a high to walking into it was one of the hardest things I've ever seen.
Up until that it was absolutely fantastic, you know yourself how social Bloodstock is & I really tried to get that across this year!

I found the security to be less heavy handed but more professional/respectful this year. Talking to the punters as people not meat which was great. But it'll never be perfect...
