I worked as a mechanic at a ski hill in Alberta, Canada... They had a Beast in their fleet. The stuff it could climb was unreal.

I think that was just a quick video he made it seems like he just puts out videos to promote his adds he always had some way to make you spend your money in his videos has to make you watch 10 mins of a add that's probably paying him

FYI if you pick up an untracked cat from the rear lift frame its way easier to maneuver around pivoting on the front wheels. (If it runs and you can lift the front push frame.)

The only down side I see to that monster cat is the fact that it don't have more seats in it.

@@darthtrump4428 it was only 60K, so doesn't much matter to him. MSRP doesn't matter, what you paid matters. Cheaper than other offroad heavy wreckers. A sitting construction truck is a very expensive construction truck, best to get it out and back to work asap. Overkill is better than underprepared.

I mean no offense to Dave at all, but I’m pretty sure he doesn’t have a huge hand in actually building it 😅 he’s the visionary and the wallet at this point. Again, no real other way to get this many projects going without a team like he has
Our resort has one of the test models of that snowcat. I love how big it is and how much terrain you can cover. It definitely has some crazy traction. Only thing is it has sooo many problems from being so old now.

Good ol Logan, UT, lived there for a year. I use to run cat back east at a ski area, man that was fun, almost got into doing Snowmobile trails in CO, but the position was filled... good times... keep up the good work guys! as always
I'm surprised you haven't bought a Tucker. You can do 70 mph in them. Just stay away from the really old ones with the steel tracks and pontoons. They can be a nightmare.
I grew up perpetually enamored with Tuckers. One in particular that was little more than a rust bucket.
No real use for one anymore, still want one.

Prinoth is big, beast, but the most powerful snowcat is now pistebully polar 800, 15,3 l , 612 HP, 2900 Nm , u should buy one :)
there is no polar version of the Pistenbully 800, but still the most powerfu snocat😉

I used to be a mechanic at a ski resort... we had two, both had recurring issues with frame cracks. But they were way better than the pb's.

Ok this is a really cool build, this isn’t something other people are going, and snow cats to me are a very interesting and very specific vehicle so it’s cool to see what they can do. I hope this is as big of a project as I hope it’s going to be cause it would be cool to see a lot of it

I'd take the tracks apart and make them with heavier componentry (stainless) and put a bigger motor + two pairs of extra rollers in the rear to give it even more flotation. On width this is maxed out. That would allow for a hitch to be added and with the spares from the spares unit, you could make a snow-cat trailer. Either cabin or platform or both with a detachable cabin.
We were in the back shop at Petersons changing out a snowcat windshield watching all those shenanigans go down 😂 let us know at Mountain West Motor next time you’re up in Logan!

our mountain got rid of our Beast last season, we miss it, you might end up with it actually, best cat for heavy push jobs!!
Ever since I saw the first Prinoth with front PTO, I wanted one. Out of my price range though. Decided to get a Bombardier and adapt a fromt PTO instead... but the only reasonable option was hydraulic, and they just don't make enough power for what I wanted to do (forestry mulcher/flail mower).
the snow cat is a piece of art i would love to say to Mr Jones or Mr Smith- "Yeah, it's the dull metallic silver- i thought about getting it painted midnight metallic cherry... but I just never got the time to do so-I know you know what I mean !" :)

Dave is so damn smart how his mind works, he always can hop in any machine any year,, figure it out and get it moved! Like the level of attention to detail when he makes an instant plan in his head to get a task he needs to get done and cant turn back.

A couple years back they had an auction here in Pocatello with a snowcat. I wanted it so bad and I was going to turn it into a tiny home 😂. Hopefully one day.
Wrenched on pistenbullys for 3 years! That machine is in a whole different class. Put a winch on the back of that and u can literally go anywhere

If they wash it and remove the vinyl decals before painting it, that'll be more than they do for most customers that aren't millionaire CZcamsrs.
Right? it's called a "Maaco" paint job for a reason.
Maybe there are some facilities that do a better job but even in my family I've had people take something to Maaco to get sprayed and it was HORRENDOUS, they had to re-do work multiple times because they just couldn't get it right the first time.

Fun fact, they are way easier to move when you lift from the rear. All the weight is in the front half. And tie that front axle in.

I thought putting a tow ball on a fork was against OSHA but this shop did it.
@@passthespanner Most tow trucks have a slot with a place for a large pin for towing stuff. I have also seen some with a ball on one of the forks for moving trailers with a ball hitch on it.

I realize the need for the equipment you're building, but you are following the heels of MOR for all of your builds. Matt's wrecker and the bombi build just seem like you are trying to beat his machines.
