my main takeaway from LoL Dobby videos is that Olaf counters everything
Tbf, the champ can just run you down when he hits lvl 6. Any good Olaf will keep you from approaching the wave while he harasses you with his Q and takes good trades.
Innate life steal, high attack speed, true dmg, a shield and better fighting power at lower health, combined with the right runes and more items then you as well as proper ganks from the ally JG can win him the lane. A fed Olaf that is CC immune is a HUGE problem.
literally being able to run down any champ and be completely cc immune the entire time tends to be a pretty good equalizer
Yeah, with the only champ that can beat Olaf being Tryndamere, who needs an invincible ult to win
He counters a ton of cheese picks because of his sustain and ult. Like half of these picks can be summed up by "abuse op poke and cc ability"

As a main i'd say "Do not try my patience".
Even without going full AP, just start DRing and go Arcane Comet, then get two points into E early. Nobody ever expects the damage you start dealing and it can even straight up kill a few champions.

The main problem is people get tilted before game even start when you're playing nasus support. People just don't know how to play around your w and e as most adc really needs you to baby sit and walk them through everything.

There also a few things to add
+You can go Rylai and slow everything, your ult now will also slow everything nearby
+Your ult can also be use to rush push turret since it reduce Q cooldown

I am old enough to recall the first time this was actually meta and we used to run 3 dorans back then. I recall nothing else of the build either than dorans items were stackable and Nasus had more ap ratios

So many people tried this "new Nasus" build and went 1-7 in their laning phase and were utterly useless in teamfights because they are squishy and can only poke. So sad.
This was one of the first things I did when black fire torch came out.
At this point wouldn't Nasus sup be better? considering the key is to apply CC and Poke, and you barely even farm

This build is actually very strong in the laning phase, played it a couple of times with variable success, but the early game was always good.
lol veteran nasus one tricks nasus main know that nasus is really strong if u max e early and have aggressive runes set up he can easily deal with vayne caitlyn
that other top laners struggle with.
As a long time nasus main, yeah his early has always been strong with E max specially when you have either low cd DOT runes like First strike, or prenerfs comet/aery. honestly nasus's biggest counters have always been only rushdown champs like riven or irelia who can dash out of his E damage + heal/shield for low mana costs....while also zoning him out of Q stacks cuz yeah irelia and riven are fun champs who actually benefit from the wave being pushed into them, and unlike darius they can't be as easily disengaged with one W. so yeah just play non Attack speed dependant, rushdown champs and you'll be fine....OR scaling high cc tanks. while most tanks will let him get free stacks, he'll also deal zero damage to tanks, due to divine sunderer not being in the game...(and one of the reasons why he's getting his E buffed) + while he can cancel animations while being cc'ed, nasus has really zero sticking potential besides maxed out w....but W max is so garbage rn unless you're going into like...vayne or trynd.

Sadly this builds plummets at 20 or 25 minutes where the standard Q max build goes hard from 20 to 35 minutes.

what champ use malignance better vs what champ use blackfire torch better
malignance for ult cooldown, blackfire for damage. Most of time, blackfire is better, unless you rely on your ult to deal damage like Karma.

The first game I played I faced an Ornn, he gained priority from lvl 1. If I approached him to try to poke I was poked too. When he got lvl 3 every time I got close to poke it allowed him to use his pillar and land the whole combo that always chunked 30% of my health. If I kept a safe distance I would lose XP and Gold, if I tried to poke I would pull the wave leading to an eternal freeze.

Your E heavily out-ranges his Q, were you trying to cast E dead-centered on Ornn's model or something?
@RiverNunu also idk why you would even play this into Ornn to begin with. Just build standard and handshake the lane. E max Nasus is only good if he can get absurdly far ahead OR needs to do it to not be completely useless in bad match ups (it's better to be even in farm with little stacks than to have no farm and little stacks because you can't touch the wave).
Nasus already does okay into tanks since they can't really kill him (even Ornn can't really burst him through his ult resists post 6) and you eventually just get to the point you ignore them with passive lifesteal after 1 item.

Lyandris first item does much more dmg, get a tear to avoid mana problems.
max e first, put 3 points into w/q and after that u can decide if u want to q stack more or want more cc.

I usually quite enjoy these videos as I love learning how the best of the best push the game to past its boundaries and really manipulate every resource they have to create something unique that can succeed, it helps me learn how to think about every aspect of the game and improve at it.
But after not one, not two but five ranked games in a row with an AP Nasus on my team when we desperately needed to good tank/physical bruiser to balance out the comp, that go anywhere between 0/5 and 3/10 and still act like it was the teams fault cause they're playing the "new hot OP strat"... Silver "challenger wannabe" Players are some of the most insufferable people I swear to god

It was never really AP Nasus so much as E max poke Nasus (usually w/ comet/aery & scorch + dring start) aimed at having a better laning phase since the poke is genuinely oppressive in some matchups (not sure how it'd go against a champ like Irelia that has a lot of sustain) and the wave clear is quite good early
Really E and W have probably always been Nasus' stronger basic abilities as far as what they bring to a team comp (the armor shred on E is very high and wither basically taking the enemy ADC out of commission) but the main problem has generally been that they're inadequately strong in isolation for Nasus to have any real autonomy - this is why LS had suggested support Nasus (where he doesn't need to function in isolation) and why previously E max Nasus generally pivoted into a more normal build path in mid-game
The question with blackfire torch/fated ashes is if it makes Nasus strong enough on his own for this idea (of E and W max, still stacking Q but not focusing on it) to be viable in top

Played against that and here is what I learned:
Nasus before blackfireT garbage. You just bait his E or trade HP where you always win the trade as nasus is scale champ and his early is weak;
Nasus with blackfireT annoying for 2-3 lvl (usually its 9-11 lvl). He can't do anything really just push and roam or stay. You just push wave and look for roam always. Ap nasus does not deal dmg to turrets at 9-11 lvl.
Laning phase ends, ap nasus in teamfights is garbage hence you win game easily. It just takes time as he can oneshot wave with one E when has blackfireT.

It's honestly better in mid and just build more standard. E max destroys squishy champions with no sustain (look at how much fun Quinn has at like 2:30) and you're much harder to gank and punish while having perma prio. Also it really doesn't take much to just have lethal on some champions if they miss their CC since they're most likely at half health or so already so you can just run them down if say Syndra misses E.

@@enzoattanansio9626People very much underestimate Nasus' E AP ratio. Full AP Nasus' E and R shred you apart but are mainly just memes. Into harder lanes you can take Comet and start Dorans Ring and put two points into E early and many characters will not be able to contest you. I've first blooded Darius players with just the mix of Comet + Ring and an extra E point.
Kled is not a counter for this playstyle. In fact, it would actually counter him since he is weak to magic damage poke (low sustain and MR)
Nasus does not have high enough damage to burst mini Kled, so he'd have to fight 2 hp bars.
Kled literally just runs ap Nasus down and u can just rush hydra anyways
@@Briezar Yes but you don't need to burst Kled, just poke from far away. Kled remounts super slow if he isn't hitting a champion, this is a problem for AD Nasus before 6, because he actually needs to get close to the wave to farm.

i am playing nasus ap runes with Dring and aery plus scorch and presence of mind for early mana then i just build regular item , bruisser and tank

Nasus is more of a early to midgame champ with this playstyle so boots are way better than cashback. Cashback is only Rly good on scalers that need like 3to 4 items to function
