Comic book girl 19 and guest Andrew Schwartz @andrewschwartz review the dualing documentaries Fyre on Netflix and Fyre Fraud on Hulu.
"Fyre Festival was a "luxury music festival" created with the intent of promoting the Fyre music booking app. It was scheduled to take place April 28-30 and May 5-7, 2017, on the Bahamian island of Great Exuma. The event was promoted on Instagram by "social media influencers" including socialite and model Kendall Jenner, model Bella Hadid, model and actress Emily Ratajkowski, and other media personalities, many of whom did not initially disclose they had been paid to do so.[1] During the Fyre Festival's inaugural weekend, the event experienced problems related to security, food, accommodations and artist relations resulting in the festival being postponed indefinitely. Woodstock was about the Music and was marketed as such in an era when Rockstars were worshipped like Gods, so not many really cared about the mud. While Fyre was sold as a luxury event for the rich on an island.
Therefore I'd say the comparisons that people associated with Fyre make in the documentaries are senseless.
Woodstock was also like a 5,000 cap. event that 50,000 people showed up to.
This is more of a general comment that isn't specific to Fyre, but I think it fits.
It's good to have dreamers and visionaries who float new ideas, but they have to have balanced with people who are grounded in reality to make sure things work.

A recommendation if you like these kinds of docs is the series "Jungle town". Not at all a huge failure and fraud like Fyre Festival and more focused on the idealism of the attendees - but it's a similar kind of vibe with failing infrastructure and a few false promises, and some shady practices.
it's about a concept to build a sustainable town in the jungle, which idealist kids pay money to work at.
The town is called Kalu Yala.

Very intresting discussion about professionals working in the movie and art industry. Comic Book Girl says it is very difficult to setup a creative thing from nothing, either design a plot or ecosystem. Very interesting talk with this artist/ guest, he works supprisly on lot of well known movies. I wonder how production / result of several artist come together or are fit in the whole story.
The guest guy is really good and to the point in his explanation, a great match with CBG19
My life long friends and I go to a weekend festival every year. Tickets are $200, we split the food and beer funds, but it usually comes up around $350 for each of us to go and survive the weekend. Then we have our personal spending money for drugs, merch or whatever, so in total we probably spend 500 bucks each for three days and three nights.
If I was to spend 1k a night, I would expect shit ton from that festival experience.

Also Synchronicity wasnt a super well mixed album. The singles are mixed way differently than the rest of the album.
I had so much fun reliving the schadenfreude of Fire Fest watching these docs, but it does suck for the island locals.

The average sold ticket was only $1,200. A price like that for a trip to The Bahamas that supposedly covered all expenses was a massive bargain deal.
