- In this episode of The Adventure Dispatch, we head out on an overnight ride with Sarah Swallow through the Humboldt Redwood State Park. Sarah is an expert when it comes to creative route planning, which is why we're happy that she decided to share her methodology for sub-24-hour overnight riding (S24O). So take notes or just enjoy the scenery and get motivated, because you're about to learn what happens when you saddle-up, slow down, and take notice of the world around you.

Nice to show another side of riding that isn't always about KOMs and PBs or CRs
I don’t know what any of that means......I suppose biking is like any other insular group.....had its own language and terminology.
Great series so far! Can't wait to see the rest of them.
Great folks, beautiful cinematography, awesome music. Nice work.
Lovely and rare to see a couple travel together. So many single travelers, must be lonely. But was lovely to follow. Thanks, amazing countryside
Good work Specialized. Thanks for showing us some genuine people on awesome adventures living some special lifestyles. It's great to see some different perspectives in the cycling world.
The best explanation for traveling:
" You have to look at life in terms of you, you only have so much time on this earth and how are you going to spend that time? "
Beautiful filming - well done.
Great video,nice song,thanks for sharing.
Really enjoyed that! - having ridden and camped in the Humbolt County area (while touring the US a decade ago) but not combined both, this was a refreshing look at a just 'go out and live your life with mini- (but significant!) adventures which I could identify with. Well done, great filming and I'm inspired to suggest some similar bike-packing adventures to my wife in our country (New Zealand) where many such options exist. Thanks for sharing this trip!
what a wonderful journey!!!
That is the kind of riding I love. Great video.
amazing video! you guys are the best!
I do my trail riding and then go home to a nice warm bed... I can't do what you guys do and that's what makes you two folks awesome...
I think I just found my new favorite channel
Humboldt is where I went to school and met my wife. Its a beautiful and wet place with the tallest of trees.
perfect sentiments. beautifully captured. unpretentious people. well done.
Beautiful scenery even with the rain.
i love riding my bike and recording the bike rides around my area. i understand how exciting it is to ride a bike in nature. glad you feel the same way.
Gorgeous film.
Amazing!
Very inspiring! I be been wanting to do this for years

Hahaha Im from the south of England and I've been on that exact bridge and the store you're outside. Crazy!! Honeydew stores!! I was working at a weed farm up the road
Almost like the Loveland Bike Trail. Miss your shop here. Looks like a good life ahead.
2:15 the alpe d'huez bike cap :D
So inspiring ❤️❤️❤️
fantastic!
awesome video!
Here's the Catch-22 that I see to bike camping, or bike touring, or bike whatever it's being called this year/decade/century... you are either moving a little too fast to actually see anything well (trying to keep your momentum up making it easier to ride) or... you are grinding up inclines with your head down a big part of the time. The faster a bike rider goes the less they see and the more they concentrate on the line and their motion, even more so when riding on thin wheels and rubber. When riding slowly they are usually working so hard as to no really care about anything else but the task at hand. The "magic" of riding an electric-assisted bicycle for me isn't how fast I can go... way faster than you should move on a bike btw, but actually the opposite. The magic for me is that I Can move slowly, and in full control and still be able to look at things around me. I can pick my cadence and speed with what most bike riders would consider massive loads and again put as much, or little effort in as I wish. The more effort I give the longer the range or the higher the climb I get out of the battery. There are drawbacks to Riding Large and a new set of physics that need to be learned, but having options and luxuries with me makes it all worth the scars I have collected along the way. Covering distances of up to 100 miles or long singletrack day rides out of basecamps along the way. Humboldt looks beautiful and almost as wet as the Olympic National Forrest, I can't wait to see it.

@@raymachado4481 Thanks Mr. Machado. If you're bored I added another year's worth of random shots. Stay safe.
Love you guys 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
congratulations. I love yours videos !
I'm saving money to buy a bike ... I not yet have a ... my dream is to walk like you guys ... but I'm happy to watch you guys for now...
Hope you got that bike! I'm a student and currently saving up for my own touring bike.
Right on! & Ride on!
+1 on the Goodto-go Thai Curry. It's about the only hiking food I can stand. If you want to make it a bit more luxurious, you can get coconut cream powder from Asian stores -- the same stuff that's in the goodto-go pouch. It also works great mixed with coffee powder, sugar, milk powder, cocoa and vanilla for a drink mix. I mean *really* good.
Muito bacana, especial!!!
very very good video
awesome
I can't wait for ultraromance's video
my jaw dropped, period!
This is a dream.Cycling in the middle of winter, camping, having breakfast in the morning, where they were camped. In a beautiful place where the man did not destroy.
love it
oh so cool !
Perfection i love
so dope
What bikes where used in this video? I'm looking at buying a new one.
Love this video. What is the song in the initial period of the clip?
Great vid, being in nature with a bike is a real pleasure! What specialized helmets are those?
Fuck yeah! Medusa is such a killer band this song is soo rad!
What sort of short bib combo is it? Would it be tough enough for more mtb orientated style of exploring?
Precioso
I am just about to build my own custom bike packs for my 2013 Specialized Enduro Expert Carbon. It may not be the first choice for a bike packing bike but I think I can make it work and go on awesome adventures anyways.
What shorts are those that he is wearing to ride in? Anyone know?
Too bad they discontinued the AWOL I didn't know it at the time, but I bought the last model, the last year it was offered. But it's been such a great bike. I'm hanging on to it. Upgrading as needed. It's the bike I'll be riding for years to come.
Hey love this video...
So what's your gig with the traveling 😎... Where and what bike shop did you both work in....
What are you both doing now?
I'd consider it a blessing if I got all my questions answered and one last thing what's the relationship between you and specialized I see that on your Facebook page whatever
where can I watch the complete episode???
bellissimo
Dream ❤️
Hi there! Anyone know what bikes are they riding?
👏👏👏
Oh, please, no! Where did subtitles go? Please, please...
What helmet is this? Echelon II?
What are they riding in this video?
great video. you win. i want to buy one and hit the road. no, really.
who know the name of the first song?I think is a John Lennon's song
Which Diverge model are those ones?
It's the AWOL. I highly doubt the Diverge would have much issue doing the same type of riding though. It may not be steel, but it has the rack / pannier mounts. =] The other Adventure Dispatch with Ty Hathaway features a Diverge Pro.
Gracias Ronaldo
😍
1:08 just the bear necessities...
nice
What kind of bike is that? Looks like a road bike but thick wheels?
That's the AWOL. www.specialized.com/us/en/shop/bikes/road-bikes/adventure--gravel-bikes/c/roadadventuregravel?q=%3Aprice-desc%3Aarchived%3Afalse%3AproductFamily%3AAWOL&text=#result-list

"People making fun of my name my entire life pushed me further than I ever thought possible"
Sarah Swallow
tanks for turning me on to medusa
👍
what model of bike she has, please ?
Specialized AWOL. The other Adventure Dispatch with Ty Hathaway features a Specialized Diverge, which can essentially be a lightweight touring bike as well, but not as "specialized". The Diverge is jack of everything, master of none and absolutely beautiful doing it.
Bonito video. ;)
why I ride a specialized
thank you for making my college engineer student life to look like hell
in the future, you and me, hit that road.
Watch out for bears

+Bavaria Zockerei it's gaining more followers these days, bike's are equiped with spots where you can strap your tent, gear and stuff, so you don't have to carry it all on your back.. check salsa bikes and with specialized it's the awol and diverge.. cheers!
Did they take the snacks from the car crash??
I remember similar scene from some movie... do you remember the name of it?
