Running Up River - Fishing the Way I Grew Up

- Fishing a River I’ve never been to before along with Brody. Neither one of us have ever fished here before and I thought it’d be fun to take the aluminum boat for a spin and see if we can’t catch a few. This river sets up almost identical to a river in Indiana that we both grew up fishing that can be jam packed with fish so this is going to be a fun one. Brody might even toss his stupid tube around. Smallmouth, spotted bass, walleye, trout, largemouth, we’re down for anything that’ll bite!

Practice in the back yard with buckets🤘
Lock your eyes where you want the lure to go. Don’t just look the general direction. Pin point where you want it. You body, arm and rod tip will line themselves up. Remember that everything follows your eyes.

Caught a few saugers on a crank bait on the river up toward Dayton last week. They were deep to around 15 ft
I honestly have never seen a propped boat on that section of the Ocoee. EVER. Nice!

Look like walleye. No spots on fins. Last two fins on dorsal were solid black. White tip on tail. All walleye characteristics.
Those were walleye/saugeye. Sauger are much darker with copper/orange saddle markings & black spots on the dorsal fin & no white tip.
Walleyes have white tail, so can saugeye but saugeye have spots like sauger on fins.
We need a video on Lake Hartwell.
You mentioned White River in Broad ripple. Fished there this morning and had over 20 bass in about 4 hrs. Still a great place to fish.

I live only 15 minutes from the white River in Noblesville but I've yet to take my boat out on it, scared to get a fiberglass boat out on a rocky river lol.

those are saugeye...and all those short strikes were them. im on the ohio river and its full of them. a little tip is wait for the 2nd or 3rd bump before you jack him. they like to play with the prey before they eat it. my $.02

A sauger and a saugeye will have black dots on the dorsal fin.

We always called em saugeye or saugers from SW Ohio. So I think you got it right bruh
lol , no no no, that might as well be saying just call large mouth bass small mouths and spotted bass white bass, they have names for a reason.. those were walleye , saugers have some easy to tell characteristics such as spots all over their fins. Google image, you'll see what I mean.
Do you have an Ultrex on there to hold in the current. I have a basic foot control bow mount and have a tough time fishing heavy current or wind. Any pointers?

Why do you pull all the little appendages off yr bandito bugs?
When using it as a trailer the little appendages get obstructed by the skirt.
