Man shout out to the drummers. As a former band member, I never really paid attention to how they play so much. They literally NEVER stop while other band members get to take a break and just March in. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Awesome band. Shout out to lead drum major, Nathaniel; who attended Edna Karr High School with 2 of my children. Very nice young man. Great leadership and musicianship overall!
I'm always amazed at how they hear the roll off all the way in the back! I played the flute in high school so I'm like they all keep it together as big as they are!
I guess it's like second nature. I played the alto sax and we listen to the drum cadence. When that beat drops...

We’re talking about the best band in America here (in my opinion). They are definitely the most entertaining
they put the battery in the middle of the parade block so everyone can hear it. I march in a college band around the same size and I march in the back of our parade block so I have first-hand experience. We hear the battery perfectly fine from where we are.
There isn't a more pleasant sound in college football than those tubas when SB kicks off Get Ready. Best entrance out there.

I had to come back and comment one mo time ! It’s because I appreciate excellence, hard work , and DEDICATION from melanated folks!!! The recognition isn’t given for over 100 years in HBCU bands! Imma a band head so I’ll always appreciate it! The ones who come before battle set the tone!
Being that I'm a SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY JAGUAR 💙💛 it is THEE I LOVE 💙 too! I have always loved Da Boom's entrance all the way to their seats... Gliding up the ramp is legendary for each section and the J5 are awesome! Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to The Boom Box Classic where both Super Powers show up and show out! One Love! 💙💛💙🙌🏾🙏🏾
As a Jackson State University TIGER for life SU is the only band I really get excited to see.

The Jackson State Marching Band is simply the best! Their energy, precision, and musicality are unmatched. I love watching them perform, and I'm always blown away by their talent and dedication.

Yes the drum major entrance is cool, but not showing the Drumline until 18 minutes in is just a shame.
We do not have school bands over here in Europe as most Universities concentrate on pure education.
So do the band members get scholarships i.e. free education or at least massive reductions in school fees in exchange for all the work and practice they put in to the band???
This does not apply here as education is free....

They are traditional majorette boots. Many fans get upset if they don't wear them during appearances. I believe they have them in silver too. I love to hear that CLACK! when they stomp in the stands! ❤️
