One of best thrillers, saw this first time late 80s now just week ago. Still as good as i remembered. That Max Von Sydows character was really memorable.
The book was better. I liked the movies action fight and kill scenes. However, there are stupid errors made by the movies scriptwriters and Director. 1. According to the movie, everyone in the CIA was involved in the conspiracy. Can you imagine an agency where everyone you worked with, could not be trusted, or wanted to kill you? Why would anyone want to work there! Everyone would quit. I would have liked seeing some good guys in the agency. It would have been better if the CIA sent its special forces to kill the bad guys. Or imagine Cliff Robertsons character as a good guy, yet a badass, ex special forces dude, seeking revenge for the ones responsible for killing the analysts? That would have been way cooler. 2. The Universal Exports cover offices. If the CIA goes out of its way to create a cover business to hide its activities why does it have to be protected by a company of U.S. Marine UNIFORMED Diplomatic Security? Talk about blowing their COVER. I think they should do a remake of this movie correcting the errors.

Fun fact: The original title of the book was “Six Days of the Condor”, but to avoid the movie being too long, it was renamed “Three Days of the Condor”
Creepy. Even for an older movie this scene is pretty disturbing. No emotion as they’re doing it. Just as if it’s some mundane task. Sickening to think the government would actually do this too.
check out 1969 release of "The Chairman" with Gregory Peck , & for a lighter touch 1966 "Arabesque" w/ Peck again .....and then ,of course, there is Sophia Loren

Poorly titled clip: all the weaponry was one sided and the murdered victims were defenseless. Since the slayings were executions, the depiction of the slaughter might best be titled MASSACRE.

Actually, not really. Cliff Robertson is not the 'bad guy', per se. He was unaware of his colleagues' extra curricular activities, and the hits, until they were brought to his attention. The hits were private contractors, not sanctioned by the agency. Neither was the Director, implicated played by John Houseman. Certainly, later, Cliff's character defends the corrupt colleagues, stating that if suddenly the power was turned off or reduced, people are going to want electricity, and they won't care how they get it. As he says, "They'll just want us to get it." One need only look at recent events to see how right he was. Imagine, if the internet went out, don't you think most people would demand it be turned on again, no matter what coup was staged, what war was waged in some far off land? People would go ballistic if suddenly the power was turned off on their smartphones and tablets and internet. Cliff was right. They won't care, they'll just want it. And the agency was gaming ways to keep it going (since oil was the only source of energy at that time) by overthrowing middle east leaders, coups and wars. Sound familiar? ;)

Still one of the most unsettling scenes I’ve ever seen in a film.
A rare thing, a competent crew who go about their business with no fuss.
The way Joubert is first seen through the reflection off the rain-soaked sidewalk. . . very forshadowing.

1:30 - Quentin Tarantino's inspiration for the bathroom scene in "Pulp Fiction".
Nothing is really original by QT. Many, if not all, of the scenes in his movies are lifted from other movies doesn’t.

One of my all time favourite movies. The TV series Condor, which is based on the movie, is well worth watching.
Proof about how well good recorded sound, the clock gong, the main frame computer sound, go a long way to creating suspense.
One of the great uses of sound, and audio, to create suspense.
Max von Sydow - RIP
The actor who played the hitman (mailman) in this scene and the later scene at Faye's apartment is a guest on Coast to Coast AM tonight. Hank Garrett.
RIP, Mr. Sydow.

Redfords best role.
Agreed. Think he played this spot on.
Agreed. Better than the one he played in Downhill Racer (1969). He played a true hero here.
I would give it a tie with Jeremiah Johnson.
I remember being shocked back in 1975 to see women being coldly mown down in a movie. How naive l was.
A line from 1987's "The Package" comes to mind- " these people can be anything they want".
The mailman who appear in this scene was the one who was killed later in the film.

Is this what happens in American postal service if you mess up the wrong return address the boys come round for they had enough !!
Nice how Max Von Sydow notices the books are fake, locating the camera and film which is recording the hit.

See the professional Leon 1994..
The girl also asked the victim to move (away from the window )
No, I won't move away because you don't want the sound of glass breaking outside from your bullets.
The girl at the computer was Arlo Guthrie's girlfriend in Alice's Restaurant the movie...
Alice's restaurant was a horrible movie.
I couldn't get through it the first time.
Condor you can watch over and over and it holds up.

My favorite Robert Redford film, so much better than Downhill Racer (1969).
Not really a shootout, more of an assassination hit.
"Just imagine if they had used silencers"

A zillion times.
It is even worse in real life. Read history and newspapers. Start with Snowden and mass surveillance.
