🚿 DIY Shower Curtain Hacks 🚿
0:00 1. Shower Curtain Rug
This project turns a shower curtain into a waterproof bath mat.
Here's what you'll need:
- Shower curtain (with your favorite design!)
- 4 dollar store mats
- Duct tape
- Spray adhesive
- Scissors
- Iron
- Hot glue gun
- Water-based polyurethane (optional)
Instructions:
1. Lay the dollar store mats face down in a square, aligning the seams. Secure them with duct tape.
2. Place the shower curtain face up on a table. Cut around the edges, leaving a 3-4 inch overlap for each side.
3. Spray adhesive on the backs of the mats, covering all areas.
4. Carefully lay the shower curtain on the mats, smoothing out any wrinkles. Use an iron to remove remaining wrinkles.
5. Flip the mat over and apply hot glue along the edges of the shower curtain, folding the corners as you go.
6. For extra grip, add a dab of hot glue on the back of the mat.
7. (Optional) Apply water-based polyurethane to waterproof the mat. Let it dry completely.
Enjoy your new shower curtain bath mat!

Wow that’s time I’ll never get back
lol
My thought exactly. That first project looked like shyte. Not sticking around to watch the rest of this brain rot.
I’m so pissed.
FOR REAL!
I would not have though to use the shower curtain as a pillow cover. I need to recover my outdoor seat cushions and now I know what to use! Thank you!
Probably far less costly than buying outdoor upholstery fabric.
First guy has a great voice for radio! Very soothing
I swear I was thinking the same thing and then I saw your comment ! 😊
Yes he does. 😁
Should have put the duct tape on the printed side, and it would have appeared seamless.
Just use clear tape maybe?
@@windblowsone4475There's also white duct tape...
I was expecting them to use them as lenai curtains 😂
Me too
I can buy outdoor cushions for $5 at Walmart. Shower curtains plus the inside 'pillow' will cost about the same. This is why women aren't sewing their clothes like they used to a few generations ago, fabric is so expensive, so it's cheaper and saves time, to buy clothes at thrift stores or on clearance.
I agree. I was shocked here in Australia i went to my local thrift/charity store for things and it was cheaper to got to Big W :(
Wouldn’t be bad if the duct tape didn’t show 😳
White duct tape from Dollar Tree would have been better!
He probably should have put the duct tape on the other side instead of the side with the curtain. Or placed something between the side with duct tape and the shower curtain.
Use duct tape the same color as the back of the mats
I agree, he should have used white or a clear duct tape.
Yeah, I thought the same
To me seems like a waste of money. Shower curtains aren't cheap any more. Might be easier to just buy an outdoor rug.
You can find some really cheap shower curtains. Outdoor rugs are more expensive than what he used. Some ppl just like to create things instead of just buying them. 🤷🏽♀️ It's feels good to know that you have created something for yourself instead of buying something someone else made. I know it gives me joy !
Heck any one of the 4 he got at dollar tree were pretty enough and I would think that when they were flipped over the rugs and the shower curtain would just slip all over the floor
Agree, and after all of the time and waste of money, you can see the duck tape through the curtain. I give this project a thumbs down 👎
I agree…I bought one probably 3 times as cheap with beach vibes at Walmart I’m sure far less. Do like idea of pillows, probably make several pillows from one shower curtain. Use old one your replacing. 👍🏼
Dollar Tree is a store that everything is $1.25
I actually use a shower curtain as a normal curtain for my bathroom window cut to size
Did the same
Wow great i idea thanks im going to try it 😊😊😊
For the pillow...please don't use E6000 as your glue. Use fabric glue or stitch witch fuseable webbing.
What does this have to do with a porch??? Besides a rug? I thought this was going to be a design using shower curtains on a porch somehow????
I think it’s waterproofing for outdoor pillows
I’m just gonna buy one already made
You could use WHITE Duck Tape...😊
Or duct tape the back instead of
The bath mat idea is good but I would have changed the color of the duct tape.
But how do u wash it when it gets dirty ?
@@MStinkyknickershe water proofed it, wipe or hose it off
@@viviansmith5060 what does that have to do with the duct tape?
Shower curtain pillow really good idea for outdoor pillow. ❤
On the pillow back, if you just overlap one piece about 2" over the other one, you'll have an opening for your pillow that will lay flat without buttons after inserting your pillow
There is transparent duck tape that would work well
We remodeled and now have glass doors. I have several pretty shower curtains that I didn’t know what to do with. Good idea.
Using a shower curtain is a great waterproof pillow idea. FWI...you don't have to cut but one long strip of material 15" wide by 45" long. Turn inside out and fold over fifteen inches on the back side. Sew the two sides shut and turn right side out. You now have a pocket pillow. You're right it's simple and a great outdoor solution for comfortable patio furniture!
You don't need buttons for the pillow. You just need about 2"-3" overlap of the back. By using buttons, you guarantee that only one side will ever be used.
The pillow cases she made were a neat idea and cute
Yes, if she had made both sides of the print going the same direction!
For the pillow, she should have made the pattern of the print be the same orientation on both sides.
Awesome idea!!! These would be. Awesome in my classroom! One per group. Fill it with all the supplies needed for the activity. Love it!! Love the music! Love you!! ❤❤❤
I love the shower curtain pillow!
Fabric tape is a good thing too use when folding the edges over too. Especially since ya have the iron out 😉
Also, shower curtains will fit a twin bed like a bedspread.
Cute ideas. I would think the rug may slip because the frontside isn’t grippy.
Loooks great n the cool part is the duck tape makes a cross for Christ ❤I love it
Tape needed to be on the other side. Damp rag and just a few minutes in the dryer works wonders on winkles.(comments for 1st clip)
Great way to refresh outdoor pillows w shower curtains.
Hopefully the mat shower curtain doesn’t get wet … it could become quite slippery😬
I suggest ironing the wrinkles out of the curtain 1st, before application to the mat.
Just in time for summer 🌞❤
Thanks, great to give more info to the young ones for a great learning experience and fun making new things 😊
Wondering why the duct tape wasn’t applied on the other side of the placemats?
Because then the pattern on the other side would show through the curtain. I would have tried to find some solid color mats.
yep
Try cleat tape.
@@1136MJ You tape the pattern side and then place it face down and then glue the shower curtain to the white side and voila!
@@hollystiener16 right, but then, I would hate the back! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Always do your corners first. But, it's a great idea.
Love the idea of the waterproof chair pillows!
Get those mats aligned, people!
You can see quite clearly the duct tape thru the shower curtain . Also instead of ironing i would have lightly dampened it and tossed it in the dryer
Got a new cat and she sheds a lot esp where she sits on cotton covered dining room chairs. Thinking to cover the seats with shower curtain as fur won't stick like it does to the cotton. Cross my fingers!
It looks good but I’d use different tape as this shows through. Also, the next one, the pillow, use the remaining shower curtain and use on your Adirondack chairs. If there’s not enough, make a roll pillow case.
O:29 "Got front and back, and side to side..."😂
Love these ideas 💡💛💚🩷
Great idea for the bath mat! I'd use a clear/transparent duct tape though so the tape couldn't be seen on the front of the mat.
I'm actually in the middle of the shower curtain one but I'm using wood to create mine as wall art. I just need to get being lazy and cut the wood to make the frame.
I bet it will look great when you finish.
You could also use a large foam board.
@Donna777 the shower curtain is 70x70....as much as I hate to make the frame I can't imagine how much it was cost to make something with poster board. I actually purchased some wood...I want to say it said it was shims and that was too light and narrow....bring in the craft sticks.....still didn't work. Which one would you believe as real art....the one that lays on the wall or the one that has crisp sides and the piece sits off the wall? I just need to stop being lazy and cut the wood and make the frame. It was a good thought though.....I actually saw this on CZcams and she used the wood it's like 2-3 inches thick.
That’s too clever. Thanks.
Really cute 🥰 pillows
Creative 😊
A great idea for inexpensive color on the patio! But the duct tape (which is still visible) is unsightly & definitely diminishes the aesthetic desired! Maybe hot gluing a fabric strip or stitching a wide bias tape? Just saying.
Definitely something useful for a quick fix idea for outside or in someone’s shed!! that’s about it or something you can show kids to make lol
In my opinion your DIY’s are a lot of work.
Pillow idea is great… but the front and back design need to be cut the same direction
It's good idea thank you for 2 idea 😊❤❤
Great Idea, thanku very much ❤
Love it ❤!!!
How much adhesive did you spray on the table?!
Beautiful
The squirrels around here rip thru anything fabric! We found that out the hard way!
You have a very nice bathroom
Good ideas!
In the first clip is that shower curtain fabric or vinyl?
White duck tape would have been so much better for that rug.
Pretty 😍😍
I didn’t grasp the cutting of the back of the pillow but it’s basically the full portion of the front plus four inches. But cut it in half and overlap each piece by about two inches?
Wow!
Does anyone have a way to make a room divider?
Next time get plain, unprinted mats & have the duct tape on the other side. Tape showing through looks bad.
I would have used white duck tape for the shower curtain project.
Duct tape has so many colors. You can match the tape to your shower curtain to avoid the peek-a-boo effect.
Need more cushion 😂
You can purchase beautiful shower curtains at the Dollar Tree 😉
Unless you use anti microbial shower curtain you may still get mold from being wet. And they will fade in the sun. Did this years ago.
Also an old sheet would work
Can be easier to make than that , but i appreiae tehe turorial thank you
Great ideas, however, I would have put the duct tape on the design side of the mats, so the white side would be plain white without the duct tape showing through. I ade pillows like that to match my living room decor, using fabric, not shower curtains. I like that I can remove the pillows to wash the cover. I made them soon after we moved to our current home in 1987. They still look great.
Or you can use a shower curtain as a tablecloth for your picnic table.
video 2 i liket❤
Shouldn’t the side with the duct tape have been turned over and been on the back. That way it wouldn’t show through your great looking rug, wall hanging, artwork or etc. I love the concept, great use of shower curtains.
If you used clear duct tape you wouldn't have the gray duct tape showing thru the light colored fabric. Yes they do make clear duct tape.
Great project, but probably should of used clear packaging tape😁
I liked the outside mats but yes he definitely should have used white or clear duct tape instead.
I feel like the buttons in the pillows were unnecessary.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You can see the duct tape through the shower curtain in the first project.
You can see the duck tape showing thru..
cute pillows, but defineately NOT water proof, water can get in where the flap is, if it rained on it.
for that first one you realy shoulda used white duck tape or clar packing tape
I would suggest to take a transparent tape instead of the grey tape that we can see pupping up when you put it outside... shower curtains are semi-transparent.... but the concept is great!
There are not cheep either. Get the pieces from the dollar store
Cool idea white duct tape would be a solution and you wouldn't be able to see it as easy!
Shower c+ glue gun+ spray+ table mats + pair of scissors + labor= too much 🤣😂
That duct tape showing through looks really classy.
The cloth shower curtains are not water proof thats why you have to use the plastic liner
I only listened to his voice.😮
You can see the duct tape. Looks like it will fall apart asap.
Next time try clear duck tape
But you can see the tape through the fabric
Wear an N95 mask while using the hot glue gun on those mats. They are made with shotty materials that when melting under the glue can give you chemical lung damage
Shower curtains cost a $1 at dollar store?
I don't like the fact that you can see the duct tape. Crisscrossed underneath your curtain
