- A first person ride on Line 1 of my light rail train system in my "City Build" Cities: Skylines city. This video captures the LRT line going in both directions, turning around half way through the video
Made with the "City Drive", "Dynamic Resolution" and "Speed Slider" mods. Supersampled at 200%. "Speed Slider" mod set to 5% and recorded footage speed up 1100%.

these first person rides would be perfect if there was an asset that includes the inside of the driver's cab
Someone tried to with the Shinkansen, but the cab keeps disappearing at a certain speed. So it can work for lrt, trams and buses, but high speed trains like Shinkansen or DB Regio won’t be a possibility. :(
JenperYTRed I might going to try it on my Copenhagen Metro though to see if it would work, but I'm quite curious with YODOH's Linimo with its modelled interior how it would turn out in-game.

I imagine in not too long there will be a game/platform that will combine rail/truck/etc sims with city building sims.
Pedestrians seem suicidal in this game with the way they just walk out in front of the train.
Clearly, you haven't visited Latin America...
This is why I prefer light rail lines built aboveground than at ground
love the la metro trains, i wish we had more irl, and that they were also longer because 3 car trains are apparently tiny despite the cars being 90 feet long

How did you get the Los Angeles METRO rails, I thought they were taken off of the workshop
My question is why use the P3010 from LA Metro?
Edit: on top of that, they have unrealistic headsigns, and the car numbers aren't registered whatsoever.

Very good job, I always want to build an LRT system like that, but I can never build a city that fits one lol. Maybe make the loop at the airport a little bit less tight, especially since this is a light rail system and not for streetcars. Thumbs up from me!
Light rail vehicles such as the ones he is using in this video have a wheelbase similar to Siemens sd100s and LA metro light rail cars from kinki shiru. They can handle that tight of curves.
Oh ok, thanks for the info. Just in the tightest point of the curve, the rails are distorted and a lot wider than the rest of the line. It could also just be Cities: Skylines being Cities: Skylines though.

I will install Cities Skylines by the end of the year on my new PC.
I intend to use the necessary mods and assets (Metro overhaul Mod, Extra train station Tracks, etc).
I would like to know if a city with a lot of mods takes a lot of places (like 100-500 go). So, I would like to ask you, how much your city takes up space on your PC (having well on downloaded all the words and assets on the hard drive).
Currently, my Cities: Skylines installation takes up 29.1 GB in total.
Breakdown:
Steam Folder is 11.4 GB (base game content, all main DLCs except Campus)
Workshop Folder is 9.9 GB (~1400 items subscribed)
AppData Folder is 7.8 GB (save games, custom projects in the asset editor and screenshots)

Hi, love your commute! How come you can see things in tunnel? Mine is completely dark
the default tunnel assets aren't designed for first person camera so they don't have any texture that loads, cars also disappear inside these tunnels probably to save processing power. there are some road/rail assets that do have rendered tunnels, so find one of those, probably just search tunnel rendered in the workshop and it'll work, except you won't be able to see people or other trains unless you get some other mod for that

Just a quick question, how do you move the “Tram Station (Centre Platform)” asset to the middle of the road? Also, in the build video I saw you use a station that had platforms on both sides and I can’t find that in the light rail station assets collection. I really want to build something like this, and I hope you are still responding to comments!

I turned the center platform asset into a procedural object with the “Procedural Objects” mod.
Also updated the collection with the station seen at 4:10.
Like with the center platform asset, I also turned it into a procedural object. This allowed me to lengthen the station with minimal glitches and customize the platform location and height without affecting the terrain.

No, but the trick is to slow down the game with the speed slider mod and speed it back up in editing. With the settings in the video the game is 5-10 fps.

@@malbey3898 You can buy it on Steam and download it, no need for CD ;) If your laptop can handle it of course, I had the same problem untill Christmass
Have you tried it? Maybe you could find a free/pirated version which I did, before you buy it if you still want it. My laptop was i5 8GB Ram SSD with no good graphics card and it didn't work well. But it still worked well enough for me to play. I got a new laptop with 16GB Ram and SSD with an Intel Integrated Graphics Card which is the default non gamer for any laptop. I'm pretty pleased with it but of course it's no match for a real gaming PC.
