I use a penn fierce 8000 that I leave at my dad's in Hawaii for GT's and yellow fin I go for a month every year 10-20 big fish every vacation as long as I pump and wind and don't use the reel like a boat winch it holds up great I did put a spool bearing from a battle 2 on the shaft and the line roller from the spinfisher to replace the fierce bushing I saw a guys drag cap to a battle 2 melt so I'm waiting for that to happen

Hello, yes it was a great fight because my setup was way under the class of that fish.. it was a jigging rod and a Penn spinfisher 8500ssv, 80lbs daiwa tournament braid.
That is a very good size reel. You can use it in a big variety of fishing. It loses for the big sizes in the drag and its assisting system but it has a decent capacity. So i guess whith the right match material you can cath a very big tuna, maybe one as big as mine.:-)
Hello Bilal, i guess the Slammer 3 is an improved and watertight Spinfisher V. I have a Slammer and it performs very good. It looks like a better reel. The spinfisher has a better relation price/performance.
Renato Gonçalves thank you for answring me. I wonder if i can land such a tuna with this slammer 3- 7500?? It is spooled with a wft 51kg braid. And a 64kg leader. The rod is a pionner gt 2. Pe8. 80lb. 150-300g.

I guess it's no longer available. It was from a Portuguese brand that extincted some year ago. they nade very good rods at the time.
