Is This The BEST Place To Ride In The HAWKES BAY?!

- Te Mata Peak is located south of Hastings rising up to 399m in the Te Mata hills of the Hawke's Bay region of New Zealand. The suburb of Havelock North is situated at the base of the peak.
This area is a popular destination for visitors (in particular walkers and mountain bikers) and whilst the trails are few in number it is still a worthy spot too drop in on (and down from) if you happen to be visiting from abroad. Fair warning the climbs are more equal parts steep and challenging and the Peak itself is prone to alot of wind due too its exposed nature
Join me and the bro Rolly as we do a quick look over this maunga (mountain) also known by its not so widely known name - Te Mata o Rongokako, the face of Rongokako

Welcome to my local tracks. There is a lot more 30 min north at Eskdale MTB park. Happy to show you around any time
Cheers for watching Aaron! I usually ride at PP when i come across from Palmy and I've got a special mission to ride the entire park in one day. Hopefully i can achieve that before the area is closed
Chur brotha. Yeah she's a spicy little track alright lol. And yeah I spotted exactly where I had my bail on the first track. Seen it coming from miles away haha
That looks like fun, I will have to check it out next time I’m up North.
Chur Liam. Its a good haul down and worth a stop over!
Lovin the subtitles there my bro👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Chur sis! They certainly help and have thier place i reckon
Might have to visit that trail in the future
Go check it out bruh...don't let the climbs put you off lol
We were jamming those tracks back in July on the cyclocross bikes before the schools race was definitely choppy.
Ooooosh had no idea you did that bro! Thats mean as!
Cool Video T(MTB). Did I hear somewhere that these arve the oldest MTB Trail in NZ?
Thanks for watching bro. Honestly I'm not really sure. If they are I'm certainly impressed
They are pretty old, I used to ride them in around 1995 onwards, Well the ones that were there then, I used to bike all the way over from Napier as a teenager. That main one looks like it hasn't changed much since i last rode in the late 90's
Loving the focus content! Could be bias of course... Trails looked pretty dry, went pan pac weekend after you guys and was wet and chaotic af
Thanks for watching Jimmy bro! The weather banging as it was made for good riding. Still a bit mucky in places. Good to hear you got out in PP during such yick conditions
