  • This is a quick and dirty test of the ulanzi cooling fan tackling the notorious overheating of the canon r6 during 4k video.
Will it prove to be a serious contender to the other 150Euro fans?

I think canon is heating up at the other side, the lens side. I don't think the back gets hot? Sony might be a different story.

The sticker on the back of the camera states it gets hot, apart from the back the handle gets really hot as well due to card writing. The only solution for a hybrid operator who does full photo and full video is the R5C with oversampled 4k DCI.

@@studioxperience4581 Do you feel the camera getting hot at the back? I found 'KOERTACOO Camera Cooling Fan' which looks to be effective. There is also a new version of Ulanzi without the sticker. I think i might try one of these.

because r6 use time-based to manage regulate overheating, not using actual temperature of the camera, you have to buy newer canon like r6 mark ii, r7 and r8, they are using real actual temperature so the will definitely help and won't overheat

I own the Tilta fan which is much much better than this Ulanzi one. The tilta fan blows out cold air like a freezer.

I am sure about the tilta even without owning one.
Since the tilta has copper inbetween the backplate and the fan and has a heatsink it can dissipate heat properly unlike the ulanzi. The ulanzi "Works" only in modest 25-26C temps but once it gets into realistic conditions like a wedding in Greece under the sun at 45C it won't make a difference.

Can you make a video testing it pls? Please reply to this with the link, i've put my R6 for sale... but the almost uncropped 4k is so nice... I may keep it if I can shoot longer... it's overheated on me so many times that I am frustrated, but love the image quality... i am strongly considering the new panasonic s5 iix... and I want to move from Montreal to Florida, so I must have a reliable heat resistant camera

@@tomascasarotti no video but i can say it easily doubles the 4k60 recording time. In very extreme temperatures, it allows to shoot unlimited 1080p60p.
