Very soothing and relaxing to watch your video. I find Washington State one of the most diverse and stunning places on Earth. I was lucky enough to live in Seattle for a year and did some travelling to the Olympic National Park. This brings a lot of amazing memories thanks to you. @NaturalFlow - I would love to live in Washington State but there is no way my family would let me move across the country. My best bet is to get some land and throw a trailer on it and call it a vacation home (lol). Olympic, Mt Rainier and North Cascades all within a half days drive from one another, in my opinion, you would be crazy not to love Washington State! I’m glad you found our video soothing and thank you for the kind words.

Thank you, Campbell Family! It was a beautiful trip. If possible, you should consider throwing in a hike at Mt. Rainier, it blew us away as well. The two parks aren't that far apart. FYI - our favorite hike in Mt. Rainier was the Skyline trail! Safe Travels!

FYI the Lodge at Hurricane ridge burned down a few months ago so they are severely limiting how many cars are allowed up each day, plan accordingly!

Hi Samantha, this suggestion may go without being said but it is an important one. I can't tell you how many times we had to provide water for kids on trail whose parents thought they had enough.(Scary Situation to come upon!). I have also come across parents who needed more water because their little one could no longer walk and they had to carry them. If you don't have one, I suggest looking into getting a couple water bladders. Let me know if you have any other questions.

This has been a super helpful video! Do you have suggestions based on this itinerary for campground locations for each night? Thanks!
If you are looking for a more secluded campground and don't mind driving a bit before starting your adventure, then I would stay at Coho Campground the first night. If you are looking for a campground closer to the Hoh Rainforest, then I would stay at Bogachiel State Park. The first night we stayed at Coho Campground and went to the beach and Hoh Rainforest the next day. After going to the beach and Hoh Rainforest we stayed at Bogachiel State Park and the next day we went to the waterfalls, then stayed at a hotel in Port Angeles and went to Hurricane Ridge for our last day. There are also some nice campgrounds in the Lake Quinault area if there aren't any sites available at Bogachial State Park. Have fun!

Thank you for this very organized video! We're planning our 1st visit next summer but weighing whether June or July is best. Does the falls like Sol Duk & Marymere begin to slow down and trickle in July or does the flow remain good? And do I understand right that the road to Hurricane Ridge Visitors Center doesn't open until late June/early July? Any pros and cons of June vs July would be appreciated. Thanks again!
Hi Steve C, of all the research on ONP that I did, I never came across anything that mentioned Sol Duc Falls drying up or slowing to a trickle. However, I can tell you that we went last year at the end of July just after the legendary heat wave that Washington experienced, and we still very much enjoyed Sol Duc Falls. I’m sure the flow rate is much slower in the summer than it is in the winter or early spring but if you are trying to go during the best time possible to see the most amount of water than I suggest to Google Sol Duc Falls Flow Rate and see if you can find a monthly average flow rate. Good luck!

Your welcome! Also, the road to Hurricane Ridge is open throughout the year but there are restrictions such as requiring chains in the winter and being closed on some holidays. It is also closed on certain days during the week in the winter and on bad weather days. Hiiii! We're planning on doing a roadtrip for 2 weeks and visit some of the national parks on the Westcoast. Is it best to rent an RV or a car?

Hi @anaroca7158, 90% of the time you will be able to enjoy the outdoors more if you stay in nearby campgrounds. I don't think it matters much if you stay in an RV or in a tent if traveling by car. We have tried all options, and we like tent camping for a few days in the park, and then we stay at a hotel on the way out of the park for 1 night before going to our next campground at the next park. This allows us to vacation longer for less money, get the outdoor time we love and freshen up when we need to. If you don't want to tent camp, I suggest traveling by RV.
Have you ever visited in February? Do you think there will still be snow in the area?
Hi Ryan Martho, there will be snow in certain areas in ONP in Feb, such as the Hurricane Ridge area. The lower elevations in Olympic National Park receives less snow in ONP than the higher elevations do, such as the Hurricane Ridge area. The lower elevations (Hoh Rainforest & Coastal Regions) snow melts much faster than the Hurricane Ridge area. I remember reading somewhere that chains are required in the Hurricane Ridge area during specific months. We haven't been to ONP in the winter YET, but I would love to see ONP in the winter.
