- A lot of you guys have been asking question about how I animate character so I thought to put together a serie of 5/6 tutorials to show my workflow. There are so many things to say that I am really not sure these tutorial will be exhaustive, but I hope you will find them useful to develop your own process.

Awesome tutorials! It's great to see your animation process. I really like how you give weight to the movement of your characters. Top job Emanuele!
+Michael Tierney Thanks a lot!
Hi Emanuele! First a big thanks for thoses five Tips and Tricks! Very useful and clear....
I just have a little suggestion : Can you put the title of the tip on the youtube title (for example here : Facial Featers, beside Chapter 4)
I come back often to your videos and sometimes I dont remember witch chapter talk about what I looking for ^^
Thanks again for this shared work!!
Best,
S.

Great video and helpfull
thank you so much, keep safe
awesome video. like the series. thanks
Sensational!!, throughout the series, thanks for that!
Another great tutorial! :) will the next one be on legs? I am assuming you use paths to animate the legs.. if so, how do you parents the feet to them?
nice tips subscribed
It's cool. thank you
Very nice to see your process.
The timing of the beard has me a bit confused though... I'm guessing you spaced all other keyframes by 10 and the beard by 20?
At the end, when you show the stroke only render of the opening animation for each of these tutorials are you editing the original illustrator file or do you convert to shape layers and apply stroke only that way?
+Brian Fitz Exactly, I spaced keyframes by 6, and the beard by 12.
Regarding that kind of wireframe effect, I generally edit the illustrator file. It's better than converting to shape layers since the puppet tool doesn't work on them.
Can you make a tutotial where you pan the camera around the character. The camera is circling around the character.
Awesome tutorials! Thanks for sharing.. Small question: How would you loop the final animation having offsetted frames?
offsetted keyframes i mean..
it great!
can you show me how to create intro video ??
Ottimo!!!!!!
Hi for me it's creating a slicing in the moustache when i apply the puppet pins so not working for me, any help on how i might fix this would be amazing?
Disable continuously rasterize option on that layer
i cannot find tutorials for things like creating a shape out of 2 shapes. does anyone know of any or even what it is called. Its almost like a mask with two shapes that overlap?? idk thanks
Hi, really nice work, I love it. I was trying to do some of my own with the things I've learnt watching your videos, I tried to use the puppet tool in a mustache, but in the moment that given mustache changes position (moves down), the puppet tool points don't follow that lawyer (mustache), they just stay in the middle of the screen, I'm obviously doing something wrong, could help me to solve it? Saludos desde Argentina!
+Edwin Herrera You probably have to deselect the continuous rasterize option on the mustache layer. Let me know if it works
+Emanuele Colombo Just as you said, it worked just fine. Thank you! (Here the results, I'll keep working on my physics) media.giphy.com/media/3oFyDarhLR8BVqNd2o/giphy.gif
How do you slow down the animation speed?
great
Hi Emanuele, it's me again! Sorry to bother. I've been making some gifs that I' ve been uploading to platforms such as giphy and tmblr. They just don't seem to look ok, the image quality is very poor (I've been using vectors from illustrator just as you do in your videos). I wanted to ask you what kind of files (and settings) do you render from after effects in order to, when uploaded, the gifs look sharp and clean like I've seen from you and other artists (markus magnusson and James Curran from slimjim), mine end up with a considerable amount of pixelation. Sorry for my bad English and thank you in advance for any answer you're willing to give me!
+Edwin Herrera I generally export the video in .mov format (Prores 4444), import it in Photoshop and save it for web at the maximum resolution possibile.
There are many variables that can affect the final result. In example, since you have to limit as much as possible the number of colors, texture can cause you some problem.
But there is not audio explanation : ( thanks anyways
Poco serio!...... ;)
Can you tell the music?
+Five Clouds It's called "Techtronic Folk", I bought it on Premiumbeat
+Emanuele Colombo thanks
Rubbish
top! gonna try to make an animation now :) thank u so much
