Destiny 2 OOB: Starcrossed Secret

- Looks like we've got a secret room in Starcrossed :D
I went on vacation shortly after the dungeon came out, so I didn't get much time to explore, but within two days people found what I assume is probably the end of the exotic catalyst questline. I've not even started that yet, but I can't imagine what else it would be for. I first learned of it via Djxyz0's tweet on the subject.

Woah as a lore person this is pretty interesting

My guess at the moment is that this is some sort of reveal that the Ishtar Collective had already been this deep into the Black Garden, or maybe that a part of the Ishtar Collective had been stranded in the Garden all this time? I can definitely feel some big Vex developments coming after Final Shape.
This Vex artifact will help us go thru the gate or something
Maya Sundaresh "lives" within the Vex network. Hear me out:
The theme of this season is how the witness reverted the flow of energy with the help of the Veil to enter the Traveler and how we are trying to do something similar via Wish magic. Meanwhile the Vex had tried to enter the Cloud Arc to access the Veil's capabilities for decades, maybe centuries on Neomuna. What if Maya used their attempts and reversed the flow of information with the Veil, uploading herself into the Vex network. She was found dead in one of the proto type Cloud Arc chairs hooked up to the Veil with dead Exo bodies configured as a "proxy" between her and the Veil/Cloud Arc.
I propose she invaded the Vex network of the Sol divisive and might even have caused their religious worship of the Darkness and idea to create the Black Heart on the idea of the Veil. The worshipping part always struck me as something human-like to the otherwise coldly logical operating Vex. Maybe Mays retained some of the personality to this day and setting up a potential ally or (more likely) villain for future story beats. That would give Lakshmi's idea she could "control" the Vex (or the portal) to banish the Eliksni to outer space like she said moments before she's been killed in the Splicer finale new context.
And on the note of Asher Mir and his death and assimilation into the network and how Maya a lightless causal being achieved something a paracausal guardian could not: the Veil did it. Asher dove into the Vex pool like it's a hot day at the pool. Maya instead used the Veil (Destiny's deus ex machina of this year) and a filter of multiple Exo bodies - who are as we know part Vex. Something something making the altered Vex fluid "remember" it's previous state via the Veil's abilities to tap into memory of the universe and convincing the Sol divisive she was always a part of them and oh how about they adopt this very irrational thing called religious worship into their collective.
In other words Asher tried to kick down the door and tried to blend in while not being very sneaky about it. Maya with the help of the Veil went into the head office and cooked the books to insert herself into a lead position so none could object her claim. That's at least my crackpot theory.
@@AmunetRa that makes sense , with minor iterations, that’s probably how its gonna role out , i think we will learn more in the episodes if they ever make them provided the company doesn’t collapse on itself

For those curious this likely links to the aspect lorebook from sk which had praedyth and the ishtar collective simulations break out of vog and into the black garden. Likely this is setting up echoes as the image weve seen looks to be on venus with a warlock wearing vex armor which fits praedyth quite well.

I don't think this is catalyst-related. Like Revision Zero all the catalyst quests will almost certainly end with just completing the mission on legend. This room just looks like it will push the story into the next seasonal/episodic part of the story that isn't directly tied to the FS campaign.
Yeah, but it will probably involve the bow in some way/or involve the Ahamkara that's there and why the vex is here in my opinion
The last chest will be right next to that room he had his friend push the barrier to go out of bounds. If that same room isn't catalyst related, then it may be related to whatever this will be.

the only storybeat i can think of for this is something to do with maya sunderesh and chioma esi. perhaps theres some hidden veil research thing they hid in the black garden and with the help of taranis?

Well there is a starcrossed emblem that was put in the emblem collector so that might be where you get it.

Did they patch swapping Navigators to get rid of the cooldown? Just got mine and it doesn't reset the timer when I equip a duplicate
You can't get rid of the timer. Gotta swap in air to avoid that.

Seeing as how we never ended up going here in the mission (at least to my knowledge) it makes me wonder if it’s just scrapped stuff that got left in or if they’re planning on using this in the future by repurposing the mission.
They used it as a sort of teaser for future stuff, probably one of the post Final Shape episodes. I forget what it was gated behind. Either secret chests or some quest. It built a staircase up to where the portal was over time, a bit more each week I think.

Starcrossed is this season's exotic mission. It seems like there's a quest line for maybe the exotic catalyst that is slowly building a ladder to a platform at the end of the misison, with a portal that will likely lead us to the room at the end.
Your wrong the last chest is at the end after you've killed the last boss theirs also another spot close to where you was that takes you under the map
