Yup.
Yes I just commented this too! Lol It's 100% Mae West.
Why did they speak this way in the 30's?
@@billie6814 It was called the Transatlantic (edit or mid-Atlantic, looking up either will get you the info) accent. It was meant to bridge the gap between American and British audiences and appeal to both. It was supposed to unite the film and media industry. Best of both worlds. It was posh. Classy. Thus all actors were trained to speak that way. It's not a real accent, it's not used by any groups of people, and it's basically extinct at this point. Except when we watch old movies and are like "wtf is that???" Lol.
@@billie6814 Here's a link that explains it in a video if you're interested czcams.com/video/IL2MJ8rQ12E/video.html

Same here. It's too good not to adopt. The world needs to hear it.
Absolutely love Cassandra. This was definitely spot on. The dramatic pauses in between sentences really sent it for me 🤣
CassandraaAaaahh*
The phrasing of the challenge makes it seem like the PI killed her husband...and now I wanna see that.
If you ask me, the phrasing suggests the Femme Fatale’s husband murdered the PI‘s husband. The sentence would be nonsense if we weren’t already familiar with these stereotypes.
And who’s ever heard of a 1930s femme fatale that goes by “They/Them”? This is an atrocity to grammar.
@@danielevans7439Exactly! Do they still use the "bad" pronouns "she/her" and "he/his" at all? Or is everything "they/them" now?

Pretty sure this was the moment I fell in love with them, and then the pottery bit just cemented it.
That "Oh no" was so Mae West. Like she's going for her voice the whole time but that was a bull's eye.

What I wouldn't GIVE for this to be a full improvised scene, with Brennan playing the 1930s PI
"Who definitely murdered their husband"

"A dog help a dame out" needs to become a regular phrase.

Dammit why is the 30s femme fatale such a hot archetype? 😂 Sorry, it’s so silly but I’m like into it
It's an archetype literally designed to be hot, but deadly. A honeytrap. Not being into it, probably means you're either not into women or the impression was done poorly. Femme fatale is a figurative venus flytrap for men.
@@futuza ...And some women.
@@epsilon-eleven they're not really the intended target if you're not subverting the trope, but hey, if the flytrap catches a wasp instead of a fly it's not going to complain :P

@@bacicinvatteneaca this, except instead of seduction, the thing I'm not so into is the consequenceless murder. Different folks, different strokes I guess.
As a Cassandra, I need to use this as an alarm or something, I love this so much 😂❤️
For some reason, when seeing the prompt, I thought that the one who murdered the husband was the PI...
Apparently Vic uses they/them pronouns. I went thru a series of mental gymnastics trying to figure out the prompt until I read a comment disclosing that, and the sentence makes a lot more sense
That could be a really fun twist at the end though - it turns out Cassandraaaaaa just talks like a fuckin' weirdo and the PI was the killer the whole time
Another reason why they/them pronouns are confusing and stupid.
@@tinky2914 bro what 💀
It's the sentence structure. It should be 'A 1930s femme fatale (who definitely murdered their husband) hiring a PI to investigate the death of their husband.' Or: 'A 1930s femme fatale hiring a PI to investigate the death of their husband. The femme fatale definitely murdered their husband.'
When she said “Oh, no.. ☹️” I instantly thought of May West lmao
Damn, this just reminded me that I only have just over 7 more years to find a husband so I can make jokes about murdering him in my fancy widow robe.
As a Cassandra, I can confirm this is how we acted back then. (and even now)
