    I like your voice when you say, "It's totally fine, it's no big deal...." Cuz as a newbie, I'm always freaking out when I'm figuring stuff out and like reassurance! Lol, pishayu thanks!

    Thank you for the excellent instructions you give. It is nice to see how the use of stuff like a contemporary machine sewing , modern satiny fabrics, etc and your own creative touch adds flair and bling to traditional items.

      Anjali Silva how exciting , I used satin in the tutorial, but I also have many prints of cotton ready for appliqué, the same process is used for both, happy sewing, don’t forget to subscribe to my CZcams channel and click the notification bell to be informed of future tutorials

    What size of needle do you use? I'm making a ribbon skirt right now; but, I can't finish it because I haven't gotten my ribbon yet. I very much enjoyed seeing your applique methods. I don't trust that I know what I'm doing when I applique; so, I'm going to make several samples and keep track of the width and length of the thread. I like using the Heat and Bond, also. Saves a lot of steps. I hope you make more shirts and/or appliques. They are fun to use. Can an ally make skirts for natives to use? Or, would I insult people? Thank you for your time.

    Do you use like a interface at bottom, on other side while you are sewing this appique on?

    • @MountainSoulStudios
      @MountainSoulStudios  Před 4 lety

      Barbara Scott I’ve tried it a couple times, I’ve also used paper, but I find it time consuming to tear away the paper , and it messes up the stitches, if you’re doing a true satin stitch the interfacing would tear away easily , but I prefer to not use anything on the back side,

    What do you suggest for washing your ribbon skirt if you use satin for applique?

    • @MountainSoulStudios
      @MountainSoulStudios  Před 4 lety

      BCH Research Services I always machine wash, on hand wash or gentle cycle. I turn my skirt inside out during washing, hang to dry. And I also iron inside out .

      @bchresearchservices6860 Před 4 lety

      Good suggestions. The satin doesn't pucker after being washed?@@MountainSoulStudios

    • @MountainSoulStudios
      @MountainSoulStudios  Před 4 lety +1

      BCH Research Services Have you had satin pucker? I prewash my fabrics to prevent shrinkage which should take care of that, always prewash/dry cottons , some have considerable shrinkage which will effect the aesthetics of the finished product

      I use cottons and satins for all my applique , be careful with iron temperature when using satins
