Life on the border is a melting pot of cultures and cuisines that creates a unique culinary scene like no other. As a Mexican immigrant who lives in America, Pati spent her life combining cuisines, and she will explore how this fusion of cultures affects the food in Tijuana. Influences from San Diego, Southern Mexico, and people from all over the world come together in the region's exciting food community.

Pati, last week I went to dinner at a local Mexican restaurant in Waco, Texas called Taqueria Mexican Grill #9. I ate Tacos al Pastor. They were delicious. I would recommend eating at this location because the people are super friendly and it is a great place for lunch or dinner any day of the week.
Pati- I went to Tacos El Yaqui…. sooo freaking good. AND the flan is sooooo good!

If he was in the US, the meat, cheese and tortillas wouldn't taste the same. The sources of his ingredients would be different and just not the same. Things usually work out for the best.
So true, David! We've really dummed down the food in the US! Ingredients in Mexico taste like God made them, not so in U.S. The Mexicans take such pride in their traditions + methods passed down through generations of abuelos. I love this!!! I haven't been to Tijuana in years! My memories are heart warming and I will make a trip there very soon, I'm a Vegan now x 3 years BUT I can appreciate all this goodness from Baja/Mexico. You are Amazing mijita you make me very proud.
Most people don't realize that Mexicans were baking and eating bread 200 years before Americans. The Spanish introduced wheat to the Americas because they refused to eat Native Mexican staples like corn ,tomatoes avocados ,even vanilla and chocolate all native to Mexico

I have lived in Mexico for 22 years, leaving the US never looking back, the past president is an embarrassment to me and building that stupid wall....it'll come down now that he is gone even if it means the physical wall remains, it is all about the wall in our Hearts. No more wall, our new President embraces our Country, yes I say "our" Country I consider myself a Mexican ;) Viva MEXICO, their beautiful Souls and food! I love you Pati and I am grateful to have stumbled on you you teaching us authentic Mexican cuisine and how to prepare it at home!

I am blessed to have retired young and just before the market crashed, I saw the writing on the wall and got out. Most of my friends lost their retirement and had to stay working...for some til they passed away and breaks my heart! I fell in love with the Mexican Souls, mi casa usted's casa, no matter how poor or rich they are, you are always invited to join them in their feast, love and laughter!

2 worlds separated by less than 10 feet yet such dissimilar culture, 2 people's the same human beings yet separated by way of life, everybody surfing the same orbit around a great big burning star called the sun. I do not think we will ever know why so we might as well share the one common denominator we do know and enjoy some wonderful food with some hugs and smiles to garnish our spiritual energy.
Someday the wall will be a simple reminder of overpowering just like the Berlin Wall we will also see it fall.
There has to be another way to fix things..

Not all Americans feel as Trump dose I as an American feel the great need to apologize for the how you have been treated, there never should have been a wall , in God's heart there is no wall and in my heart there is no wall! Mexico is an amazing, wonderful place. It is as much an arm of God as America. Despite our president and the stupid people who follow him Mexico is as much a part of our heart as any other country.
