Jason Aaron’s Thor run wasn’t amazing. It is what made Thor Odinson the punching bag/ laughing stock he was before Cate’s run. Not to mention destroying all the previous established lore surrounding Thor, Odin and Mjolnir.

But wasn't he silver when merged with Sentry so I thought he got back to being silver again so I figured that he probably must have gotten his silver again before the merge and would retain it afterwards.
