Hair Tourniquet Emergency

This video demonstrates the management of a hair tourniquet on a digit. It is impressive how deeply buried the hair tourniquet can go making access and physical removal almost impossible. The important teaching point is that an incision must be made through the tourniquet that reaches the bone. This will insure that the tourniquet has been released. At least two such incisions avoiding neurovascular tissues may be indicated.
