Although jadeite comes in lavender, orange and other hues, its most desirable color is a very specific shade of green. While other colors are certainly lovely examples of jade gemstone, the finest jadeite, which is almost transparent with a vibrant emerald-green color, is known as “imperial jade.” After all, green jade is the jade color that most people commonly associate with this intoxicating gem.
