You can play him in either positions, it depends on your style of play, if you like cutting inside from the right (he may not be the best card for cutting because he is not that fast, but he has the best curl in the game) play him at RWF. If you want him to feed your wingers and score first-time shots, play him as CF, if you have a good goal poacher you can play Messi as SS beside your CF. For me I think his best position is CF (free Messi) because he has great balance and his finishing is very high, so feeding wingers and scoring first time shots is pretty easy for him.

Yes he will be no style. He will not position himself always on the side of last defender I don't prefer to use a player without playstyle as a CF. Always use a player with activated playstyle on Cf like goal poacher, fox in box, target man. Goal poacher is most prefered as Cf
Goal poacher and advance striker is same and if its shows advance striker in your device then i think its a glitch someone else has also asked me this but it will not matter in gameplay so chill And really sorry for late reply I was really busy in the last few days
