That's why most 80's singers (like Mohammed Aziz) were sidelined in 90's and most 90's singers were sidelined in 2000's.
2000's was a time of experimentation in music in which new singing style was developed .
Rock ,pop, EDM, upbeat party songs, high pitched sad and romantic songs (sufi style) were introduced in 2000's. That's why Kumar Sanu was sidelined because he can only sing 90's melody.

Kumar Sanu is a cheap copy of Kishore Kumar. He can only sing simple same type flat romantic songs in his forced nasal voice. Tere liye to Kumar Sanu ka 'din me leti hai' song award deserve karta hoga.
Don' t bring uditnarayan . His singing is incredible and god gifted voice and success he got are second to none . But while giving interviews he is totally awkward and very embarassing.

I think Udit Narayan was best singer than Kumar sanu in every aspect like success, longer career, award, total listners, total songs, total language, voice quality, etc. But kumar Sanu is a good speaker in an interview while udit narayan speak very slow & steady in his interview. Too much time taking. so that , people get bored with Udit ji.
