    7 years back I used not this LED version but older incandescent bulb version for going out of the office, out door purchasing after 6 PM, for quick checking of bike during long bike ride. Long walk to home. Even used as an emergency lamp (candle mode) removing the cap for shower, reading, dinner in hotel, restaurant, office canteen. As there was frequent and long power cut.

      Nice! They are very handy. I still use the cheap incandescent 2AA flashlights all around the house.

    If you use lithium batteries they don't leak acid so you'll never have a problem with them in the flashlight and they last longer. It's alkaline batteries that swell up and/or leak acid, but they can do that in any product. Really enjoyed your review.

  • @Charger8921

    Cd means candella. The emitter used in this is the Luxeon C emitter. If you have a Sams club membership, I highly recommend getting Energizer Ultimate Lithium Bulk packs of 12. They have awesome shelf life, I bought an 8 pack in 2004 at then $20.96, and they're still most of the way full with moderate use.

    I have had one of these lights for the past 5 years. It has survived daily use, sitting on it, washer AND dryer, and many drops. If you are concerned about durability of a $10 aluminum flashlight, then you may not want to use electronic key fobs for your car. Those fobs cost a ton of money to replace, and they are not as durable as this little light. Also it's made in USA, that's nice. The main con, it's not as advanced as other flashlights in this size, but my '97 Ram 1500 takes me 60 mi to and from work everyday. So "features" and "how modern" something is is not the end all be all.

    • @travisp11
      @travisp11  Před 3 lety +1

      You may have a battery that leaked inside of it and the acid cakes up in the tube making the lid hard to open. Put a small screwdriver in the hole where the cap is and gently hold the barrel of the flashlight in a pair of pliers and twist

    on the battery issue dont use duracell, they have been to have issues with swelling, the new energizer 10 year batteries will be better if they every bust. I have used cr123 duracell batts and are the best, then energizer, then surefire. For aa, aaa, c, d, and the 12v smoke detector batts energizer are the go to. everyready = store brand stay away unless you are in a pinch for all batteries. I will be getting the twist head 3c maglite soon for work. Outside of surefire flashlights = high end 1911, maglite = glock of flashlights, they set the bar. The reviews on amazon and other places are mostly true some lights slip through QC just like anything else, if you get one contact maglite and they will fix or replace for free. They warranty is like Smith and Wesson, they back there product and have a reputation to maintain. Good review glad you like a old school light from 1979, ps that's why i say maglite =glock, when you cant pistol wipe with plastic, you use a aluminum pipe lol

  • @asphyxiate14

    There's a reason flashlights guys call alkaline batteries "alkaleaks". No matter the brand they WILL leak eventually. You've been very lucky to not have any problems. I personally never use anything but nimh rechargable batteries. Just keep charging them over and over and they'll never leak.
    The nice thing is if you're somewhere where you can't charge them that's when the normal Energizer or Duracell come in to play because they're always good as a backup.

    Only thing that I don't like is that you can get higher lumens from similar sized AAA flashlights like the Hatori or TruNite one pro is the focus beam though.

    • @travisp11
      @travisp11  Před 5 lety

      This is true and I know that price should not always dictate what you but what are some of the cheaper models that the company you mentioned have to offer?

    • @kakashi99908
      @kakashi99908 Před 5 lety +2

      @@travisp11 Well TruNite has the Ti3 which is $14 but is brighter and smaller. The Hatori 9CM is about the same size and claims 150 lumens for the same price but sadly it doesn't support a key ring.
