- We called him Hope. A paralyzed golden retriever rescued in Turkey where he was living inside a plastic box covered in his own poo.
When I saw his picture I couldn´t believe it... I promised myself I would do whatever it took to give this dog a wonderful life..
This is his story...

He looks pretty happy to me! My friend had a dog paralyzed dog like that and it was a very happy dog and lived many years like that!
Debra Bonvisuto Life is exceedingly precious, and we must do and perform great lengths to lovingly preserve life. I don't think this dog "deserves" to be put to sleep. The people who managed to get Hope to where he is today are heroes. Hope has a wonderful quality of life, and knows that he is loved. That is such a blessing to behold. When people have an attitude that you have, and look at "putting an animal down" as an easy solution to a "problem," don't even know what going the extra mile is all about, and I pity you. The immense feelings of satisfaction, and a job well done, of knowing that you've done the right thing, and that you have done all within your power to transform a dying life into one that is happy and full of love are the miracles that make up life, and they are inspiring and uplifting stories. These kind of stories move youngsters to become better than they were before knowing about this... and through stories like this they become inspired to become advocates, and to be compassionate about a new purpose of the discoveries about life, and in life. And it is finding a purpose in life that gives life meaning...👍🏾😇🙉🙊🙈

Please don't dwell on the cruelty that caused his spine to be crushed and his hind legs to be paralyzed… Rather 12 on the fact that his name is Hope, and he personifies this virtue! serendipidus1 I sincerely hope that a vet chooses that profession because they care about these lives, in the same way one becomes a doctor of any kind cares about their patients. If not, please don’t become a doctor of any kind.
One of my cats got sick once, and I called my local vet clinic to see how much treatment. It was expensive, and I couldn’t afford the urgent help my cat needed, and they didn’t want to budge, so I had a conversation with the doctor and I basically asked him why he became a vet if not to help these animals. He paused for a while, and he let me pay what I could for everything. He cared, and I’m thankful for that.

How wonderful thank you Victor . You were even going to keep him if no one else wanted him you are truly one of the worlds best people. Please we must not Focus on the person that did this. We do not know why he did this. There is definitely something wrong with him and he has an instability that he cannot help. I know we all feel hate for this person but he still was one of gods creatures we should pray for him that he gets the help he needs and maybe someday he can be rehabilitated and help animals. I know someone who did just that they were mean and nasty to animals more than that that person hurt some animals and now he is rehabilitated and love them and helps them..

The animals are also the children of the creator as are we. Viktor and his team are care givers to those who fall into misfortune , or the wrong hands . They pick up the pieces and put them back together as much as possible. That is what we are supposed to do. And I THANK THEM FOR IT ALWAYS AND SUPPORT THEM.

I so often wonder if it is cruel keeping these dogs alive but this guy is so happy to be with people. Even at the beginning he was so friendly and happy. Dogs have so much to teach us humans. They are not cruel. They don't hurt their humans. Thankyou

Canine populations the world over have gone up too much. Every country should crowdfund and designate a national sanctuary for dogs where they can be vaccinated, neutered (safer, faster and cheaper than spaying), and fed with simple farm-grown produce. They can live on peanuts, corn, whey (from cheese processing), soy, and edible insects instead of meat. Iowa, for example, would be a suitable location for such a refuge. If such a proposal gains enough support, it can be admitted into state or federal law.
+Pr B .........I agree......I've asked many times why people who run huge rescues or others who are intelligent an love dogs don't start a foundation or something. To spay / neuter all the dogs in these places where they are being tortured / killed?? Like in Costa Rica.....Land of Mutts / Strays!! There are over 1000 dogs this one lady : Lya Battle & Alvaro Saume....(her spouse)......take in homeless dogs. If people put their minds together they could do so much more. Then TRYING to save one abused dog at a time. That's fantastic and those should keep on saving! I'm talking about those who have $$$ or those who are good at raising $$$ & have contacts who can make some make some big changes. At this rate the abuse, killings of dogs / cats just keeps going and NO one is ever put in jail!! I do love what every rescue, person, non - kill shelter, fosters etc. do fur every animal!! Viktor, this is one of the best rescues you did! Golden retrievers are beautiful sweet dogs. I will never understand why sometimes some people abuse or neglect a dog. I see that Hope has now a great life in your white house with all the care he needs.
