- Dragon Ball Z Kakarot's new DLC is here, and today l go through the 23rd World Tournament of Dragon Ball, aka the 23rd Budokai Tenkaichi. Goku VS Tien Shinhan, Piccolo VS Krillin, and a bunch of other classic matchups!

Always funny how essential Gohans birth, practically one of the strongest in universe 7, only happens cus Goku is like "ok"
20:25 The thing with weighted clothes is that it may seem trivial for them to lift, but it still adds on a lot when they need to punch, kick, run around, etc. 100 kilos is most likely more than what Goku weighs at that point in time, so it would effectively mean he would have to exert over twice the force to move at the same speed he could normally.
So when it comes to moving fast compared to a normal person, that's easy. But when it comes to trying to move around at their highest level of speed, each tiny bit of weight adds up.
They're also not likely to be pumping 100% juice 100% of the time, giving their bodies more time to feel the weight in a resting state. Since their bodies are still normal, squishy, mortal meatsacks under all that ki.
Them just skipping over Krillin's fight is criminal.
Random Fun Fact: Chi-chi's power level during this tournament, as stated by Weekly Shounen Jump, is 130 (with some sources even claiming it's as high up as 137). That's almost as much as the 139 power level that Master Roshi was said to have during the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai. The difference is, Roshi got his power from training for literal centuries to perfect his style of martial arts. Chi-chi got her power over just six years from training with her dad and, like, beating up wolves in the forest or something.
This leads me to believe Chi-chi was originally planned to be a kind of female counterpart to Goku, having the same insane potential that he has. Which was probably scrapped the moment Toriyama came up with the idea of the Saiyans, leaving Chi-chi to just be a slightly strong housewife that is suddenly heavily against fighting until she isn't.
I think that also says that like...even then power levels were never meant to be that important. Characters are strong e ough for their story roles since that's always priority and the numbers applied are arbitrary Fanservice
Isn't the Ox Kings power level like 900 or something? I think his training would he pretty effective
Sometimes I forget how wild the Red and Black Goku fit was. It actually goes so hard.
Literally his best drip after the Blue Gi and yellow pants from End of Z/GT. Yardrat fit is the best 3rd.

This is one thing I loved about kakarot. You feel on par with the bosses. Not just a “I hit you 3 times ur dead, you have about 3 phases before you can kill me.” Yknow, you feel like the boss is your equal, and the animations are top tier, which lead to an epic fight.
We must have played different games because I never felt on par with the bosses, or even some of the lesser story opponents, due to them all having super armour on EVERYTHING! I should not have had to spend 20 minutes fighting Jeice and Burter when Goku dispatched both of them with no effort in the Manga/Anime.
@@nathanevans1382 I experienced a lot of super armor and it makes some fights in the game super annoying but once it drops, it feels amazing to fight them.
@AntWithaGun Except it never does, Kid Buu has like 3 phases, and the first two took me FOREVER, and I didn't think it was fun because I was just doing the exact same thing over and over again: Kid Buu does an attack, dodge, hit him 3 times, back away before he starts another attack, repeat for an hour straight. The only fights in the game I actually found fun were Vegito Vs Buuhan, because Vegito didn't give a damn about super armour and murdered Buu anyway, the Goku Vs Vegeta fight in the Saiyan Saga because that one DID feel like you and the boss were equals, and Goku Vs Raditz, THE VERY FIRST BOSS, because it felt challenging without being unfair or too long. This probably wasn't a big deal for most other players, but when I played this game, I had just finished Kingdom Hearts 3's ReMind DLC, which had 14 expertly designed bosses that were all a lot of fun and extremely difficult, and the only one that felt unfair was the one I was SUPPOSED to lose, so in my eyes, Kakarot was very "flawed" to say the least.

@@nathanevans1382 that’s one of the fights I hated the most. Kid buu and perfect cell, other than that I loved the boss fights. They can be hard but that’s just the game. I still feel like it’s not a one sided boss fight unlike with most games. However some boss fights feel pretty damn annoying.

Kami and Piccolo speaking a different language to each other is pretty neat, almost makes you wonder if Toriyama actually thought of making them aliens that far back instead of winging it.
Edit: speaking of foresight explaining things, Namekians only drink water, so presumably eating the bottle wouldn't have done anything.
You say that far back but I'm pretty sure we find out Piccolo is an alien in the next arc.
Bro what? Yes, Toriyama is notorious for winging everything, but there is clearly some things that Toriyama had decided from the very beginning. Kami and Piccolo being aliens is one of them, I mean its pretty obvious, they both have the sterotypical green alien troupe design lol. Goku being an alien was also decided much earlier before it was offically revealed. Toriyama even hinted at it when Oolong asked Kid Goku if he was an Alien after noticing his tail.

The 23rd World Tournament might be my favorite Dragon Ball franchise arc. It's just fantastic. It really is the arc of BOWER!
I like how chill the announcer is with the whole marriage and everything else. He’s like the champ in the making game from Pokémon
You can tell this kind of combat is what CC2 is more comfortable with. Getting huge Storm vibes from this DLC.
They "only" had to add like just 2 more combos and it would've been GREAT. Sucks that the only way to combo atk was simply pressing atk and you could like zap vanish left n right to make it "not boring" and repetitive

Aww, they skipped Krillin vs Majunior and Yamcha vs Hero. The former was a really cool fight, and the latter has the funniest moment in the whole arc.
The only disappointing thing about the DLC is the fights they skip and the drop in animation quality at the end of the fight from Tien vs Tao with that lame ass punch 😭
I forgot Tien was that guy way before Piccolo junior and Vegeta was introduced.

The ground battle is reminisce of Asura's Wrath tbh. Which make sense since both Kakarot and Asura's Wrath is developed by CC2.
Which means that SeeReax needs to play Asura's Wrath next.

Yeah it's a little bit disappointing but I guess the DB fight was literally just some dodges and a quick KO - they would probably struggle to make moves for her to provide a 'challenge'

@@colmecolwag That comparison doesn't work because Semi Perfect Cell actually fought quite a bit which makes it easy to make a moveset for him, Meanwhile Chi Chi just attacked a bit, Got ultra instincted, And then one shot.

Great episode reax. hes a tip for next time, when your in a fight you can press the button that increases your speed to jump i think, that should make fights easier.

i have to say the multiform tien fight gave me the most trouble but damn i was loving every second this DLC was amazing
His BOWER level is around 300 I believe. He didn't train all that much after beating piccolo, but still likely got the zenkai from the ass beating they gave each other, putting him up to around 400 in the beginning of the saiyan saga.

While you can't ring out your opponent in the story mode, if you play the "tough" training ground battles, there the enemy can be rung out like the player.
I was about done with this game and didn't think the DLC was worth it. This is making me reconsider HEAVILY.

If you don't know, after Blow Strike, you can transition into an air combo after you pop the enemy up into the air.
I haven seen if Doto made a video playing this as well but i just finished watching Rhyme and he didnt read about the ring out not working in the story mode that shit was hilarious 😂😂😂
