    Easily the best Disney villain and one of the best Star Wars villains at the moment. I love his voice acting and chill demeanor he displays throughout his scenes but he makes me really angry for his cruelty over clones, animals and children and at the end comes off as a dirty coward at the face of death. I know they did a fantastic job at writing him to be despicable and cruel.

    • @Unknown.Stranger
      @Unknown.Stranger Před 4 dny

      With NO OFFENSE, I strongly disagree with your last statement. He wasn't a coward. What was he supposed to do? Letting the special troopers deal with Clone force 99 and fleeing was the most logical solution. His priority was to survive and carry on with his experiment. Taking Omega hostage was the only option after the ship was destroyed. Had he truly been a coward he would have begged Hunter and Crosshair to let him go or something like that.
      He remains very calm the whole time. Obviously at the very end you can hear some distress in his voice, but you can't call him coward for that.
      Besides, the fact that he probably experimented on himself to build an immunity to that toxin further proves he's not a coward.
      If you want to label some officers as coward, I'd pick Rampart or the one Crosshair killed

    • @D1TB01
      @D1TB01 Před 4 dny

      @@Unknown.Stranger He did beg Hunter and Crosshair to let him go and give him mercy that isn't even deserved by barking at them to drop their blasters in his final moments, but they both knew he's gonna backstab them because he tried to kill Hunter and Wrecker even after capturing Omega and he would probably shoot her in the head if they did drop the blasters. Also, Tarkin threatened his life multiple times which got him scared and he felt a lot safer when his right hand Scorch was by his side.
      Although yes, Rampart and Nolan are cowards as both blatantly threw people under the bus just to save their own skins and Rampart squeals out of being scared of heights and monsters.

    • @Unknown.Stranger
      @Unknown.Stranger Před 4 dny +1

      @@D1TB01 It appears we have different interpretation of the word "beg".
      To me, begging has a prevalent negative connotation and implies whining and acting all scared and going oh no, please, I don't wanna die, let me live and I'll "behave" bla bla bla. Usually this kind of begging comes from spoiled people who don't know what suffering truly means (Rampart).
      Side note: to me, begging is not the same as asking for mercy. When Maul asks Sidious to have mercy, I don't see it as a sign of weakness. Sidious had fucked up Maul's whole life, taking him away from his planet, training him in ruthless ways, and then he completely forgot about him. Maul spent 10 bloody years in that disgusting forsaken junk planet barely surviving on scraps, managed to get back on track, tried multiple times to regain some kind of power and when he finally succeed, his former master comes to fuck everything up and on top of that killed Savage. His "have mercy" was a reasonable "leave me alone, I suffered a lot, you abandoned me, I survived on my own now again you come to destroy everything I've tried to build?" Maul knows what suffering means. His "leave me be" has nothing shameful to me.
      I hope you get the difference.
      Back to Hemlock, he really doesn't act like them.
      Drop the blasters was a threat, not a plead. Wanting to get out of a situation alive doesn't make you a coward lol. It's survival instinct kicking in. Hemlock was smart. He knew pleading wouldn't have worked and he didn't do that. I'll ask you again, to get out of that situation alive, what the hell was he supposed to do?
      He needed Omega alive, so I doubt he would have shot her. Backstabbing is definitely something I could expect from him btw, should it be beneficial for his cause.
      Tarkin was annoying as hell. His threats were totally unnecessary and were made because he didn't like Hemlock was working on a project which the Emperor kept from him. Hemlock took precautions (called shadow trooper and told him to not get back without Omega). He looked more annoyed rather than scared. And even if he were a bit scared, does it makes him a coward? No. Feeling fear doesn't make you a coward. It's how you react to it
      It's okay if you hate him, as it clearly shows.
      But he's not a coward.
      He certainly didn't like the idea of getting killed. But if that makes you a coward, then we all are, unless we truly want to die

      Yeah I was super hooked on him conceptually once we actually got to see the other assassin clones, but it’s literally the last episode. @Unknown.Stranger Před 4 dny +1

      It's not wrong at all sis! As a fellow female, I agree with you.
      HOWEVER I feel like giving you some advice.
      You've gotta be TERRIBLY careful when interacting with people who appear charming, well-spoken, well mannered and confident like our dear Doc.
      I'm not a shrink, but Hemlock seems to exhibit significant psychopathic tendencies.
      SKIP this paragraph if you know who a psycopath is (Hitler was not a psycopath, for example)
      - Psycopaths are born, not made. Their brain structure (amigdala) differs significantly from neurotypicals'.
      - They cannot feel (not even in the slightest way) empathy, remorse, guilt, embarrassment, gratitude. They don't have a sense of what's right or wrong, but they seek to obtain what's useful/beneficial to them. The same applies to relationships: relationships are like a transaction. I give you this, you give me that. If you stop giving them something, they have no problem ditching you without a second thought. It's not exactly their fault. They were born uncapable of feeling certain emotions. Some psycopaths find it frustrating that they can hardly relate to their peers. They don't understand all the tears or all the joy, since these feelings don't do anything to improve a situation. They might excel in professions characterised by a certain dose of risks (to cope with a general sense of boredom, stemming from muted emotions) or professions that require you to be a logical cold thinker to perform better (CEO, lawyer, surgeon, budiness man,...).
      They might have impulses to manipulate and lie to their "victims" to get what they want. No need to formulate grandiose schemes. An example: "oh no! I forgot my wallet! This morning I was in a rush! Could you please buy me some food?".
      Having said that, not all psycopaths are evil. In fact, a great majority adapt and blend in to fit in our society. Going to prison is not beneficial to them. Some end up there, but primarily those who have not learnt to control their impulses. Psycopaths are not totally immune to anger. If you rub them in the wrong way, they can wait a lot of time, even years, before "returning the favor". They are very cunning, calculating and patient if need be. Their logic is an eye for an eye. Forgiveness goes out of the windu.
      Again, not all psycopaths are evil. They use logic, not emotions.
      So, psycopaths are very charming because being prone to manipulation, they have to use tactics that "disarm" people. They can fake kindness etc. They have cognitive empathy, which is the ability to read people emotions. But they don't feel them. It's like: oh, I see tears. This means you're sad. So if I wanna win you over, I have to console you and act kindly. It's not: oh you're sad I'm sorry I feel the need to comfort you because you remind me of that time when I was sad.
      You get the difference?
      Be aware that if you fall in love with a psycopath, if for some reasons you stop being beneficial to them, there are very super high chances they will ditch you without a second thought.
      Now this is an extreme example:
      If Hemlock was a psycopath, if Emerie had jumped in to save him and died, he would have felt NOTHING. Maybe he would have thought: I'm lucky someone died in my place, so I can continue living.
      Psycopaths can be protective of you, they can even help you, but in the same way you'd be protective of your jacket.
      So, be careful if you harbour such feelings for a psycopath in real life. They can make excellent friends in the sense that they will straight up tell you what they think without fear. Their "brutal honesty" and "logical thinking" can be super useful. But with them relationships are ALWAYS mutually beneficial.
      Although they can fake it, they don't truly, genuinly care about let alone love you. They care about what you can give them. Of course, they will return favors if doing so is useful in the long term.
      It's not their fault (brain structure) but it's important you know what to expect. You can love them, but they will never love you in the same way. They can't.
      Now I don't think you "love" Hemlock in a "serious" way lol but I felt it was useful to let you know this stuff more in detail.
      Having said that, neurotypicals can act very similarly as well. I'd say psycopaths are more excusable since they can't process emotions. But that's another topic

    Hemlock is very overconfident like most Imperials they are all replaceable even Vader.

      Vader is definitely less replaceable than most. He was the best duelist of his time and, in terms of force abilities, he also happened to be the chosen one. The only one Palpatine saw fit to replace him was Luke.

      @@othervids3726 No, Vader was replaceable. In the Canon Comics Palpatine pit Vader against Cylo, another Imperial scientist, who created agents who were similarly capable of fulfilling Vader's purpose in combating Jedi and insurgents in order to test his strength. If anything, Palpatine was constantly on the lookout to see if he could replace Vader, with the biggest opportunity becoming Luke obviously. It's why he told Luke to kill Vader - he was expendable to him, Palpatine wanted a new apprentice, a new toy to manipulate.

      If there's the voice of the character, I count it as an appearance.

      @@Cardo... what I meant is that you don't cut scenes abruptly. For example, in the "former" prime minister scene, Lama Su speaks for a little bit. And I agree with this style of editing, it gives a little bit of an additional context!
      So, again, good job!
      I'm curious, is he your fav character? May I ask why?
      I like too btw

    It’s too bad he was killed. I would have loved to see him in live action or in future Star Wars animated shows.
    What I wanna know was what in the world did he do that was so bad that the republic put him away?
