Japan has, in my view, not been great at making beautiful cars. Functional and joyous, but always with strange design features or the classic boxy look.
The engineering always seem to win over design, so it could have sleek body, but only for aerodynamic advantage or slits exclusively for cooling system..
Instead of faulty and un-driveable from Italy and England, that suffered from ill-conceived design ideas, and break down a lot, but looks gorgeous. Like old Alfas and Jags..
Perhaps the Toyota 2000GT, but that was a rip-off design from the E-type.
But the Skyline is cool though and a real sportscar in disguise of a saloon

@@gathel8574 the 80's were almost purely boxy designs.. but I wouldn't say the decades before that was. Thinking about Alfa, when they made exactly the cars I was talking about above.. beautiful but faulty.
There's also bimmers feature in this video, that has nice design, like the 2002 and 320 T.. Capri 3100
I'm in love with these old BMW tourencars, like the M3 and the 3.0 CSL
The Ford's screams ♥ The CSL and the E30s also making some lovely tunes.

@@jordigerards I'm pretty sure these vintage racing series are only strict and that your car is class period correct to how it would have raced. I mean there are cars from the early 70s to early 90s in the race so it's quite diverse and range of power/handling levels. But this is some of the best race car groups I've ever seen!
bring the Audi 200 TransAm or the Audi 90 IMSA GTO to show the true boss of AWD race car of that time...they would totaly trash the GT-R

Was the sierra faster or fit to keep up with the r32?
They could keep up on the straights but it couldn't do anything to get near in the corners. remember the skyline was at the very least 3 years newer compared to the skyline. And the skyline was designed to the regulations and had the 4 wheel drive and steer. whereas the Cossie was a standard saloon fitted with a gigantic turbo and a silly wing. I think the skylines now are power limited to both keep it close and not wreck the engines, I remember hearing Ric Wood who built the Calsonic replica say they can wind it up to 1000hp if they fancy but they're only allowed use about 500 - 600 in a race.
Well I started race 1 in the Sierra and pulled a ten second lead on the skylines whilst on old tyres and unhappy with set up.
Race 2 we had a miss fire. We’re more than capable off taking it to them in our RS500
