There was a similar derailment in Ajax, Ontario (Canada) in Jan. 2019. C.P.R. crews had to deforest (cut down many trees) a property and bulldoze a road into the site so they could get two large cranes setup. Took 48 hours to cleanup and remove approx. 12 intermodal cars with upwards of 24 containers, and replace the track. Several of the train cars were cut up on site and sent to a metal recycler. All the train wheels were saved and loaded on flatbed tractor-trailers. It is amazing how fast these cleanup teams work.
I was at the derailment scene a few hours after it happened. I couldn't get as close as you were to the scene because they were bringing in the equipment and had to have the road closed so they can unload the construction vehicles from the flatbeds. NS 4000 was also on 21Q trailing 2nd.
A breath of fresh air no stupid background music or commentary it speaks for itself. Ive driven cranes over the pond, no way would a load this big be allowed to swing like that, it would have steadying lines attached to stop it swinging. Poor crane management.
Multiple lifting of spilled containers Is required to get the centre of gravity of the lift correct as the load has or will shift from that of a flat lift.
These fellas dont get paid enough to do this kind of work. God bless their hearts!
Great video. What a mess. Those cars angled and those containers on it. Some amazing crane work there. Thanks for the video!
Jacob, wonderful video. What a challenging place to have this happen and the potential for much worse is significant. Thanks for posting it.

Thanks for posting this; the Trib-Review took their own video of the container removal down after a day!
I absolutely love your channel and your intro is awesome!
No trash talking here. I hear no music. It’s A Train Derailment, No one is forcing you to watch it.
Lots of satisfaction in seeing the new rail sections being delivered by truck at
Thank goodness it was no hazardous chemical train. My city has a lot of trains transporting anhydrous ammonia or chlorine running through it.

Now that's what I call a mess. Some great quality pictures JL
Great vid, but I would have liked to seen all the rest of the work to completion.
Nicely done I'm glad no one was injured keep up the good work

I love how cool it is with all the mushed up metal.

You're welcome I enjoyed it keep it up
You're in good hands with Allstate!
I wish you could have filmed how they got the train cars off.
