    Absolutely fantastic. This helped a ton with changing my clutch and flywheel on my 2014 A5. I am one of those sorry souls to have done it with jack stands and 2 floor jacks.
    Tip for anyone else that is going to do this and has the 2L V4. You can reach the top bolts from above because the engine is small. Makes it allot easier. Same go’s for the annoying bolt on the axels heat shield.

    Wow, much more complicated than I imagined. I have done DIY clutch on a 2010 535i E60 RWD and 2011 E90 335i x-drive AWD BMWs and as painful as those were (reaching those top bell housing bolts), this Audi B8 S4 job is ridiculous by comparison. The E90 uses a transfer case so no need to remove axles. I knew the axles were going to add some complication, but again this is nuts.

    Fantastic video. You nailed everything within this complex removal. It’s a lot to get done but my son was researching how to pull his on a 2014 A5. Not a lot out there and this pop up just as we were pushing it in the garage to start winging it. Thank you a ton.

    Younger, I would always strive to buy nothing but Manual transmission vehicles. Now, well into my 50s, I enjoy my B9 S4 and its ZF8 tranny. With that being said, my friend here, Mike Hidalgo, will guide you step by step(Which seems to be in a series of videos) in order to DIY your B8 M/T clutch and Flywheel. 👍

      It is much work for a keyboard warriors but not much work for the rest of us. Clutch and flywheel are wear items if you didn't know already.

    • @rjmari
      @rjmari Před rokem

      @@Antto He has a point. You have to remove the exhaust and driveshaft. It's much more work than it used to be. A wear component shouldn't require this much effort to replace.

    • @Antto
      @Antto Před rokem

      @@rjmari Is it a bad thing that it's more work. New technology is much better than the old technology. It's only nuts and bolts what need to be removed and that is super easy. No fabrication or welding is required so a mechanic with a concept of loosening and tightening of bolts can handle this job easily.
      "A wear component shouldn't require this much effort to replace" This sounds like an opinion which is meaningless.

    • @rjmari
      @rjmari Před rokem +1

      @@Antto That is legitimately one of the dumbest takes I've ever read. Of course it's just nuts and bolts. It's the amount of them and their location that's the problem.
      At what point would you consider it too much? What if you had to remove twice or three times the amount of bolts? What if all the bolts were different sizes? What if you had to remove the whole driver side wheel assembly?
      It's just nuts and bolts, right?

      Yes they would be pretty similar. There are some differences in the clutch/flywheel assembly and you'l want to verify or double check all the the torque specifications, but the basic process is the same.

      The basic process and steps would be very similar, but there will be a number of differences especially in terms of the exhaust parts/pieces, as well as the style and design of the clutch to some extent. You would want to double check all your torque settings and specifications specific to the V8 versus this 3.0t V6.

    I have an audi a4 2012 diesel technik 2.0 and had to replace clutch. I had to remove the engine bay removable firewall to reach the top bell housing bolts because it was impossible to get to them from behind with long socket extensions. (especially the top starter motor bolt).
    Watch Hachem's video on how to remove the firewall.
    czcams.com/video/D0ubJ_QWlG8/video.htmlsi=T4_ICQp3jo5D1yNy (around 26 minutes in)
    Add another hour for this extra step if you have a similar problem reaching the top bell housing bolts!
