Beyond Shadowgate is a 1987 sequel to Shadowgate ( tasvideos.org/37G ), released for the TurboGrafx CD. It is a 3rd person perspective point and click adventure game as opposed to the more 1st person perspective of the original game. In it, you must play as a Prince Erik, a long decendant of the first game's protagonist, who is framed for the murder of his father. Erik must escape and figure out the mystery behind his father's death.
alexheights1 ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/a... ) completes the game in record time. - Hry
I'm so glad it uses the paddleball ending.
I remember seeing a screenshot of that ending _years_ ago, but could never find proper footage of it due to how obscure this game is. I finally have closure!
"Ha ha ha ha" *misses attack*
So, this was considered ultra realistic game back in the 90s
Yeah, this was cutting edge
The voice actor from soul reaver.
I can only imagine the movement in the real game is way less tight and "responsive" than the TAS.
I also laughed out loud when he punched the troll for no apparent reason, and also that time he broke into someone's home just to help a lady who fell, but then just jumped out and crashed into more things. Some hero.
I own it and played it back in 94 on my turbo. Yes, the combat is wonky as heck. The turbo buttons help with punching, but lining things up is a pain., Also he jumps out the window because if the old lady reads you her book, you'll die.
Lol just casually walking around punching things
Thanks alexheights1 :)
1:09 This whole interaction was Rude
The toy win.
Here's an idea for a romhack: Remake (or demake?) this adventure in the NES Shadowgate.
my goodness what a terrible game -- nice TAS though
I know, turn the beloved adventure game into the _worst_ kind of adventure game. One partaken in real time, with no viable user interface!
