probably did myself a disservice by not rewatching this series as i handnt seen them since the 90s. but still found this enjoyable. didnt have any plans on watching it but with the holiday and all its been pretty lacking in content for most the channels i follow so i decided to check this out with you guys. was pretty fun. true to form. cant really think of anything negative to say with the exception of kevin bacon being there in the first place was kinda like ok hes gonna be the big bad. we arent bringing in someone on that level for a bit part.

Although I haven’t seen the other Beverly Hills films, I enjoyed this one. Side note: Jane and Bobby are in their early 30s which makes them millennials.
Miss the days when bacon was a bad guy
Awful, not a worthy successor. Just because they used an AI algorithm for hitting some nostalgia, that doesn’t mean it was good. Bacon is so clearly the bad guy, no twist, then the lazy rewrite of canon for an even lazier dead beat dad trope, embarrassing. What would have played is if the daughter was an IA cop trying to clean up the department, not a defense lawyer that has to pass the baton to a 43 year old JGL who supposed to be the young cop. Also, wouldn’t it play better, if you had to have his character, if he was like Axel when he was young, and the older Axel was teaching him to work smarter not harder? Also why is Axel a bumbling buffoon all of a sudden? Did the writer think he was writing for Martin or Will Smith? And how did everyone know Bacon was dirty but Taggert? It’s like someone watched 3 and made Taggert into the character that replaced him! Bacon being the copy of the bad guy in 3! Of all the sequels to draw from you chose the worst one?! And the jokes were terrible. Right from jump! The joke about the black hockey league, you’re telling me that at this point hockey fans wouldn’t know that there was an all black hockey league? And then to say “ just kidding”, but you weren’t kidding, there was one, you would say “just giving you a hard time, you should check it out, they invented the slap shot.” Billy and Taggert are glorified cameos, along with Jeffrey, and how is Jeffrey in this and he has nothing funny to say?! I hated it, like I hated the CTA sequel. The industry is just mailing it to AI and throwing out garbage these days.
