I went with subgun for all three. If I'm anticipating a potential fight, I want the closest thing to a rifle as I can get. And a subgun such as the mp5k can be concealed under a sweat shirt or jacket.
I was issued an HK UMP for a few years and loved it. But in all my training i found it far more useful on semi than full auto. I think semiaut "sub guns" like this or 7" ar pistols are a highly underrated tool by civilians. They should not be run like a carbine though
@@zachcd390119 stance, mount, grips and rates of fire should be more aggressive with a pdw than a carbine. There are also different griping angles you can use better and retention shooting techniques should be practiced more.
1. Subgun. Any aggressor approach signals intentions. The subgun may deter escalation, and failing that it would be more capable. 2. Handgun. Easier to conceal, and easier to employ from inside a vehicle. 3. Subgun. It likely has more ammunition and is more stable. I don't have a lot of subgun experience, so this selection is predicated on being as skilled with Subgun X as I am with a pistol.
The kyle Rittenhouse fiasco demonstrated how entering a riot situation open carrying a long gun may not be the best idea. He wouldn't even have been attacked in the first place of he hadn't been waving ar AR around larping like some commando moron. My point is having the extra firepower of a sub gun or rifle is not a guarantee of deterrence in fact it's likely to be the opposite because these Antifa, BLM, antifash, Demonrat, psychopaths are not the sharpest tools in the shed but they make up for it by carrying a super sharp machete............I guess🤷♂️.

SIG Rattler in an urban bag to complement ccw pistol for win. B&T APC9 Pro with Glock lower in urban bag to allow universal magazine usage with your glock19 ccw for another win.
Question… can I be Pat McNamara in any of these scenarios? If I had the skills of an old school 1911 CAG guy I’d be running a pistol all day. Since I’m not that great with my handguns (supporting a family of three on just my income means dad does a lot of dry fire when he’s home), I would take a firearm with a stock alll day son. I always have my Glock 34 with RMR and TLR1 concealed on my person at home. When I go to bed it goes on the nightstand, right next to my 14.5” block 2 M4 with piggyback Steiner MPS. On the floor I keep my Vertx socp fannypack with a G26, 2x 17 round mags, flashlight, and Tourniquet. If things are happening too fast I’ll quickly grab the Glock and go. If I have time, I’m throwing on my rifle, racking a round, putting the Fannypack around my naked ass, whistle for my dog to follow me, and handing my wife the glock 34 because my puppy and I are about to go get in the shit together. My wife needs to protect my son who’s next to the bed in his cradle and tell 911 not to shoot me. This is my current plan anyway.
I use my CZ Scorpion as my plus up to my CCW over a short 5.56. For everyday not getting into a gunfight or a situation where an AR with optimal setup for said gunfight, the subgun is a great plus up just carry around on vacation to stay in it's bag in the under seat storage of my minivan. Honestly, a subgun is better for fighting than a pistol. We carry a pistol because it's socially not ok to carry a 20" M16 with nods and thermals with a 203 grenade launcher.
I live in North Central Arkansas. With that said my buddies and I have created the perfect world and and train for the what if's. Three of my buddies are law enforcement. Our kits we have decided on are kept in a pelican case in our vehicle. We all have the CMMG banshee 10mm and our side arm is either a Glock 20 or Glock 40 in 10mm with the Trijicon RCR. We all pitched in and purchased a Dillon 550 reloading press so with dies for 308, 5.56, 10mm, & 9mm. So in either scenario I or we win. We are are sick and tired of how things are going in the world and we have decided to make sure we are ready for what is coming. Oh and we all go to the same church and 4 of us are retired military with several deployments to Iraq and Buttcrackastan. Me I'm choosing my Glock 40mos for all three scenarios. Our tents are up. 😎
Ammo availability is critical. 9mm will always be plentiful compared to specialty rifle cartridges , so I'm on board with subguns. Hospital trip with LE checkpoints: concealed handgun. For the others: subgun.
If I'm comparing what I have, the G17 vs MP320. Id probably take the G17. Ive been called out to friends houses to check on people or situations and its kinda awkward walking up with too much gun. If i really feel the need, I'll pack the SBR in the truck. G17 is plenty dangerous but also deploys fast and goes away fast. Also, I think a handgun looks alot better in court. I guess Im taking the G17 in all scenarios. 1. Dont draw attention, stay dangerous 2. One hand operation while driving, keeps the courts happy in the case of skate board weilding attackers. 3. Its the gun you have on you... and has saucy reloads for multiple attackers.
1)Subgun 2)Pistol 3)Subgun The primary objective for 1&3 is defend people in a fight. The primary goal for 2 is to get away. If you’re fighting you want as close to a rifle as possible.
first one and second one I would go with Handgun do to the compact and low vis requirement but the last would be the Subgun do to the need of pin point shooting that a subgun with or with out a brace can give you over the handgun
I think most sub guns are too big for realistic concealment. Sub gun/pdws are better than hand guns obviously but they are concealable enough and usually aren’t as convenient as a handgun. The EDC wins in almost all of these imo for the conceal ability and quickness of the draw.
I’m going Flux Raider for all scenarios - off body it fits nicely in a Vertx Tourist Sling for EDC - appendix or pocket I’ve started carrying a .357 S&W 340PD wheel gun.
scenario 1: Pistol - Assuming im just chilling in the front all day it just makes more sense as we are just serving pies. scenario 2: Pistol - concealable Scenario 3: subgun - just cause

Barrel length will be quite relevant depending on your ammo choice. And 85 grain bonded copper 9 mm projectile will function rather differently out of a 9 inch barrel MP five then it will out of a 4.5 inch barrel handgun. Also the jacket at hollow points that will expand properly in a 4 1/2 inch barrel may not expand properly out of a 8 to 10 inch barrel sub gun. If you want to take the other extreme 357 or 44 magnum out of a 4 inch revolver versus a 16 inch lever gun are going to have wildly different effects. It should go without saying but in case it’s not entirely obvious a bullet that’s flying 200 ft./s faster is going to be easier to land rounds on target at 50 yards.
