I get chills everytime I hear Angelina's voice, and I've been listening to her everyday for three years now. I'm seventy years old and until I discovered Angelina I was satisfied just getting old. She has brought a new zest for life to me. I just can't imagine not having this voice in my life.

Becca, thank you for your wonderful reaction and great commentary. We don't need to speculate who or what relationship inspired Angelina to write this song. Certainly we can all identify with her masterful lyrics. I think the lyric, "I'm taking in the breeze while I fall", is saying Angelina continues to work on positives, like her music, while she is suffering, trying to save the relationship. Angelina is a genius with her vocal choices to tell the story, as she makes me feel like I am part of the story.
Angelina has told us she has written more than 100 songs, taken right out of her journals. We have been blessed with 12 originals to date. Here is the list.
"What is Life" first sung at age 11. We don't know how old she was when she wrote each song. Age presented is her age when she first sang it.

Angelina wrote new lyrics for two famous songs by Amy Winehouse, "Back to Black" and "Rehab" since it was inappropriate for a preteen to sing the original lyrics. For "Back to Black" Angelina wrote the new lyrics in the 24 hours prior to the recording, then needed just two takes.

As for Angelina, words are always woefully inadequate . I am addicted to her since the day I heard her the 1st time 2 and a half years ago.
This EP is more special than most. Each song is part of a story about despair leading to a feeling of power and strenght. In "Love don't let me go" she is lying on the floor begging for love. Then in "Now I'm the Fool" she realizes she is decieved, and it hurts! In "Fire and Rain" she renews her hopes with her friend, but "All my fault" tells about her awakening self-conciousness searching for the way to master her situation. She now knows what to do to regain herself, carrying it further in "Good in Goodbyes" where the lover is seen as "a devil in disguise" and by leaving him, she learns how to strengthen herself. The growth is fullfilled in "Diamond". She has reached the place where she is meant to be, strong and shining. Just let darkness and despair surround me, it will only make me shine even brighter!
The order of the songs on this EP is thus carefully planned, and you may be a bit confused when you play them in reverse order! Listen to them in order and you will find the whole EP even more interesting, a "per aspera ad astra" leading to the final, shining "Diamond".

I'll tell you one thing to consider going forward. The six songs in the EP are best done in order. There is a story there. You had no way of knowing that ahead of time, but after you've done them all, you'll understand.

Angelina has been writing songs since she was 10 years 0ld - So far 12 have been released: Oslo, What is Life?, Shield, Million Miles, 7th Heaven, Love Don't Let Me Go, Now I'm The Fool, Fire and Rain, All My Fault, Good in Goodbyes, Diamond, and Our Time. Angelina has stated that she has written about 100 songs that have yet to be released. Her songs are taken from her Journal writings. When she was 10/11 she rewrote the Lyrics to Amy Winehouse's Back to Black and Rehab to make them more age appropriate at that time.

Angelina's lyrics are brilliant & very poetic, a gift she got from her maternal grandma, Mery Zamani. She is Angelina's muse, best friend & constant companion. Mery is a painter & a poet & was a child prodigy growing up in Iran where she was reading her poetry on Radio Iran by the age of 6-ish. Wait until you hear her lyrics for Good In Goodbyes on her "Old Enough" EP. Loved your enthusiastic reaction, so I liked & subscribed for your Angelina journey. It is life changing & I'm serious!!!

You are right in that the EP came out last summer, but at that time she had been waiting a long time for it to release already. Angelina was only 16 years old in all the 6 songs on the EP, and quite possibly quite young 16 at that. You definitely cannot take everything literally because this song could be about a romantic relationship or family member or friend, or even something to do with her career. For real Angelina heals! Angelina is rooted in jazz, her influences are the same as Amy's, but her catalog is far more deverse.. she is a jazz singer who sings mostly other than jazz. As far lyrics representing physicallity, Waterfalls here, she also produced fluttering in Good in Goodbyes, when she says, " angel wings." First, and most importantly her first love is Billie Holiday. Then Ella, Frank, Etta, Dinah, Adele, Michael Jackson,( not Buble) Lana, Elvis, the list is huge..l know you said you hear Amy in this song, but Really it's more Lauryn Hill. She's handled every popular genre. She is basically the future.
Even just hearing 2 of her vocal performances so far, I am totally in agreement, and I can’t wait to feel the healing I know is coming with all her art. I can definitely hear influences of all those you listed in her voice, even just in these first two AJ reactions I’ve done, and I think it’s the mark of a great artist to draw on your influences while ALSO making it totally unique and your own voice, and she’s nailed that for sure! I definitely heard more Lauryn Hill in this one, but totally didn’t pick up on that until editing, so I really appreciate you adding that here. Hi Becca, the whole EP is such a masterpiece all original and so well written by her, all I can say is she is outstanding and by far the best singer of this decade or century and Diamond is an even bigger surprise I have had in my entire life I have never seen an EP only contain number 1 songs, each of the 6 songs is a hit and grammy worthy. I hope that Republic Records will finally start the promo engine and it will be played on the radio and TV, only CZcams is not enough. The crazy thing is that she said that the EP with 6 songs is a small selection of over 100 songs that she has already written, which gives hope for the future that we will be surprised with even more beautiful songs

Great reaction ad analysis Becca! Well, since you started the EP, you might as well finish it! Whether it was done on purpose or not, the songs are listed in a way that if you listened to them in order, and keep in mind what the lyrics are saying, the EP is telling a story. I would suggest you should start with the first song & video called Love Don't Let Me Go, then the second video called Now I'm The Fool, since you just listened to All My Fault, the next song would be Fire and Rain, then Good In Goodbyes, and the last song, Diamond. I've been listening to Angelina since January 2020 and have never stopped listening to her since!

That honestly one of the things that lights up my brain the most-both music and words/writing/etc are hyperfixations for me, so when they’re combined so flawlessly, it’s a blessing to be able to take it in and also try to dissect or unpack it all (and even with the detail I go into, I’ll still miss things here and there, especially with such amazing artists!). I have honestly been told, for most of my life, to tone down what is my natural expression/animated-ness, and my inability to fake emotion or turn it off-it always feels surreal when someone comments saying those are the very things they enjoy/appreciate, and I just wanted you to know how much that means to me. However there is discussion the EP Old Enough does go in a chrono order, from Love Dont Let Me Go to Diamond, and you can feel a progression and healing through the stages of each song as plays out ending in a sort of victory or triumphant celebration. ( stretch those hammies before that one)
