Abstract Acrylic Painting #22 The Process Of Making Art

  • Hi All,
    Back in my studio and this time with a large canvas of 100 cm x 100 cm!
    This one took a while to complete, I did not feel happy after I added the white splashes of paint and let the painting alone for a week.
    After a week I figured out that the light purple was bothering me and I wanted to cover it up a bit more. And now I am satisfied :)
    I hope you enjoy(ed) watching!

    You are using water to dilute and drip. The acrylic medium in the paint will not adhere well. The acrylic paints might peel or flake off the canvas. Replace the water with acrylic air spray medium. You’ll thank me in 10-15 years….(or less).

      Hi Dilciadominquez! Thank you❣️ I buy the large spatulas in a hardware store. They are used for applying drywall, there are different sizes and some are straight at the end and some have teeth at the end. I hope you can find it. If you have any other questions I am happy to answer them! Just let me know 😃

    How do you know when a work is finished or keep from over working a piece?

    • @MadeForYouArt
      @MadeForYouArt  Před rokem +2

      Hi Angelique, well that's not easy to know. I just listen to my innerfeeling and stop when I don't know what to do next. And let the painting sit for a while and look at it..and that can take a few days or sometimes weeks. When I feel it needs something else, i do continue and sometimes its much but I keep working on it until its ok. And sometimes I stop because i feel like its finished. My latest painting & video was one that took a while and you can see me going on for layers and layers 😅 But at the end there it was: the final feeling,its finished!

    I don't know how much talent is involved, anyone can do this.

      I understand your sentiments here. Did you know that most artists that do abstract painting can also draw and paint realistic and detailed art (even anatomy)? They did not just woke up one day and decided to randomly splash paint on a canvass and call it a finished painting. It's all about the self-expression from the artists. Anyone can paint but not everyone is a talented painter that truly understands how textures, forms, patterns, and colors work. ☺

    Do you have a place where you share links to the tools you use?

      Hi Erica, unfortunatly no, but in video #26 I talk about some of the tools I use and I have a photo of them. I use paletknifes, brushes, scrapers, hardwarestore tools, oilpastels, charcoal for example. If you have any more questions, just let me know❣️

      @@MadeForYouArt Thanks so much for the reply!! Love you work and appreciate you sharing your process. I have zero experience, but I am starting to let myself explore painting and specifically abstract as it is the only thing I suddenly want to do. When you use the stick, is it sometimes charcoal and then a paint brush with black paint? That is the coolest idea 💡 ever!

      @@ericacortis1905 Go and start and just paint and try different techniques and tools, to figure out what you like and love! I get inspired by other artist. I also did a course at Artify and they taught me a lot 😊 Yes i use the stick sometimes with charcoal or a oilpastel taped at the end, or a paintbrush..it give you zero control 😅 That I like. Enjoy your painting journey!
