This might be the only case I know of where artist took a Beatles song and made it better.
Hey that's true.
âShe Came in Through the Bathroom Windowâ
Here's another one. czcams.com/video/cF52fvlTln4/video.html
Paolo Nutini - Don't Let Me Down
100% agree
The 5th Dimension did a great job on 'I Got a Feeling' on their 'Earthbound' album. Billy Davis Jr. on the lead vocal! czcams.com/video/Oml7gjzJRY0/video.html
Ringo Star said this is his favorite version of the song and that Joe sang it better than he ever could
Same song, different day. Check out him doing this song at Woodstock where he's even less constrained and probably tripping his azz off.
đ, I will
Yep that is his greatest version.
Man! Joe rocked it at Woodstock. If he wasnât tripping he was high on a whole lotta smoke! Joe Cocker. Not Crocker.
@@skipwilliam5639 Mad Dogs and Englishmen live performance much better mainly due to back up singers, instrumentalists and Joe pretty good also. This version
here is also better for the same reasons.
@@malcolmbrown7683 I hear what your saying.. My GF thought he had a illness at woodstock and till I showed her this version she never knew he was just that messed up at woodstock lol
The original version appeared on the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper album and was sung by Ringo Starr.
It's been covered numerous times, but Joe Cocker's version is, by far, the most popular.
I just bought that album physical copy , but havenât listen yet âđŸ
@@abracadabra3033 are you actually playing vinyl albums or did you pick up the CD? I like vinyl...
Both Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson said this man had more soul in him then most, and he left it all on the stage every time he performed.
Joe Cocker's performance of this song at Woodstock stands out big time too! PS. "Feelin' Alright" and "You Are So Beautiful" are two other Joe Cocker tunes to check out.
So much soul that it was trying to come out of his arms
Indeed
they used this as the theme song for the 80s show the wonder years, thatâs the first time i heard it as a child
@Rose i didnât hear the beatlesâ original version until i was a teenager. i like both versions.
Same!
Mr. Cadabra probably heard it on Saturday Night Live back in the day. John Belushi does a better Joe Cocker than Joe Cocker. LMAO! czcams.com/video/VmjWO7oY8LU/video.html
Oh my Abra. YES, YES, YES. Truly a talent. Once you hear one Joe song you are addicted. When he appeared at Woodstock it was amazing. His cover of The Letter, She Came In Through the Bathroom Window. Delta Lady and especially my personal favorite You Can Leave Your Hat On will get you. Thanks for this memory.
'You can leave your hat on' is one to check out, you can see how he aged and his voice changed a little.
Also, 'Unchain my heart'. Probably the studio version is the best (if it's got good audio quality).
Yes, please!!!!!
Always reminds me of my old cribbage adversary. A lovely Sheffield lady. One Monday evening the young ones were bragging about their rock and roll credibility when she quietly spoke up "My brother played at Woodstock' (The piano player in Joe's band). Best burn I ever did see.
You're 100% right. It's a perfect performance. UNFORGETTABLE.
You should hear keep your hat on đ
Will do
Many artists can sing a song but Joe Cocker made you FEEL the song......THE BEST !!
True indeed
Joe is a legend...more soul than you can almost handle
Better than the Beatles, and that says a bit. His voice got a little more gravely as he aged. Sadly no longer with us.
no. not better than the Beatles. But an extraordinary cover. Thank you , Joe!
This Performance of that Song you hear once and never will forget this feeling Soul Voice , he still got it in his heart .
RIP Joe , we still remember and miss You
Jealous Kind, Guilty, Have a Little Faith in Me, Delta Lady, Darling Be Home Soon, When the Night Comes, Woman to Woman, The Letter, And I Think Itâs Gonna Rain Today
He mostly did covers but adds oh so much soul to each & every performance.
One of my all time favorite artists!
When you started to realize youâve heard it before, I had a feeling it would come to you about the wonder years.
Check out the Letter by Joe Cocker!
czcams.com/video/YXqaZZUMHg0/video.html
Got it , The Letter
Delta Lady is another banger by Joe Cocker...
luv all joes songs. his voice incredible. 68 years old now. been listening to joe since the 60,s. never get tired of him. he puts his all into. sadly he died 2017. check out you so beautiful to me
i
THE BEST REACTION...PURE RESPECT..WOW RIGHT???đđđŻđđđ€đđđ”đ¶đ”đ¶đ”đ”đ€đđ
His performance of this song at WOODSTOCK was LEGENDARY!
You most likely know it as the theme song to _The Wonder Years._
His "Unchain My Heart" is awesome too ...
You need to check out the Mad Dogs and Englishmen album. the ultimate hippy band, with Joe Cocker and Leon Russell and friends. You will love it. He does this song and many other great songs.
Definitely gonna do that
My all-time favorite live album. SOOOOO much soul on that one. Start to finish.
Check out You are so Beautiful by Joe Cocker...smooth!!!
Will do
Very simple and sublime song. I used to sing it at Karaoke but never had to balls to sing 'With a Little Help from My Friends'. You've got to check it out or maybe react to it cold.
Classic. Never gets old. Wait to you see his Woodstock performance!
Another mesmerizing performance is Janice Joplin singing Ball and Chain live at the Monterey pop festival. She was signed to her label after that performance. So good.
Cocker was a master at taking a song and putting his unique spin to it, making it better. Even this Beatles song. Check out his version of the Randy Newman song 'You Can Leave Your Hat On'. He added a wrinkle to it, and Newman later said he'd have put that wrinkle in it too if he'd thought of it.
NOW we're talking brother !! Joe was BADASS...and had a way of taking others' songs and making them his own. His performance of this at Woodstock KILLLED !!!! story goes, the promoters were given a tape suggesting they get him. they thought it was great. they knew nothing about him. thought he was an older black dude. you should watch that one....the response was unbelievable...it's a more raw version....smaller band etc, but just as powerful. aside from that 'feeling alright', she came in through the bathroom window (another beatles cover), the letter, Cry me a river. so many good ones
I am gonna check them , several people are recommending
It was said, that Joe Cocker channeled not only the lyrics in his body movements, but all the instruments too!!! đ ***GREAT REACTION***
Delta Lady great cover by him.
Even the Beatles appreciated this cover!
You may know from the incredible impersonation of Joe by none other than John Belushi! I đč Isn't this a such a rush of pure soul???? Love it!!! đșđ
Like many others here, I agree you must see his original Woodstock concert version of this song. It's simply incredible. Easily the single highlight of that event. Also, Joe Cocker has quite a catalogue but it's hard for me to argue that his album Sheffield Steel isn't the his greatest offering.
His "A whiter shade of pale" is amazing, Joe's voice one of a kind.
Yes It is..Rock On..!!â
So there are artists, then there are passionate artists and then the are the eccentric genius. Woodstock footage he's all over the place but delivers a perfect rendition. Rare, rare talent.
Always loved the Beatles cut of this UNTIL I heard Joe do it. Then his version was my go to HANDS DOWN. He is such a moving performer.
Definitely he is
Probably been said already but check out the Woodstock version. He is completely on fire, speaking in tongues. You'll feel that shit deep in your soul! Great reaction!
Originally a Beatles song from the late '60's, but when John Lennon heard Joe singing it his way, he said 'He owns it now'. RIP Joe Cocker and God bless man.
Love me some Joe Cocker!!!!! I've always LOVED how Joe literally would allow the music to take control over his body.....quite literally from head to toe!!! He didn't give one flyin' fuck what it might look like, coz he knew that to those of us who understand, it Cannot be helped!! And it shouldn't be!! I say "Let Go & Let the Music take you on whatever ride it's gonna take you on!!" That's the True enjoyment of music I think! Just LET GO & get lost in it!! One of my favorite LIVE performances of his is "Let's Go Get Stoned" at Woodstock 1969!! Man, I woulda LOVED to have hung out with Joe & got stoned & Jammed with him!! He just had sooo much SOUL inside him!! "You Can Leave Your Hat On" is another Great song by him, Ab!! RIP Joe--You're Never Forgotten! đđđ
Got it
The way he sings this gives me constant chills. â€ïž
Great reaction!! Joe Cocker was so soulful and didn't just sing his heart out but manifested the song with his whole body!
So many fabulous songs by the great Joe Cocker, many hidden gems to discover. Give a listen to "Bye bye blackbird".
Joe Cocker was a unique performer, one of the best of his time. He made this song his own, look at his live Woodstock performance.
About to check it out, thank you
Check out,When The Night Comes...
Thanks for reacting to some Joe Cocker! His early stuff was exceptional - love The Letter. And the later albums Jamaica say you will and Stingray - songs such as Worrier and Jack of diamonds. Absolutely fabulous stuff! love from the uk, stay safe xx
I think you would really enjoy him singing "you can leave your hat on"
That has become the most requested, soindeed i will
@@abracadabra3033 Keep up the great job of keeping it real.
This an awesome version the music is incredible. The the words are just as beautiful. A little blues, soul, and rock and roll.
Joe pulled soul out of his body that few ever have. Great Great Great gift to all of us.
Feeling Alright and When the night comes ...fire
It used to be the theme song for the 80s TV show "Wonder Years"!đđŒâïž
âMy man seems mesmerizedâ
Yup. We all are. RIP Joe Cocker đ
Good memory! Yes, that was their opening song. Joe Cocker rocks. I think he does all covers and makes them his own
I love live Cocker videos! He allows the music to take over his entire body and soul!
Absolutely, I thought he was possessed
cocker is a legend, he did this at woodstock, there's a video of it !
He put his heart and soul in every performance!!
This was a Beatles cover. Joe C left his heart and soul on every stage
Joe Crocker is one of my all time favorite artists. Thank you for reacting to this on Christmas. Merry Christmas to you! Thank you for all of your reactions, and mainly just your overall vibe. đâïžđđ đâ
You probably heard this in the beginning of the WONDER YEARS, MR. JOE COCKER... "A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS". THIS WAS MY SONG THAT MADE THE 1969 WOODSTOCK CONCERT, HIS PERFORMANCE WAS UNBELIEVABLE.... "CRY ME A RIVER" CAME ON T.V. WHEN I WAS A KID IN THE 60'S....GRANDMA WAS EXPLAINING TO EVERYONE THIS IS WHAT A SEIZURE LOOKS LIKE. REALLY IT WAS THE FIRST TIME WE WITNESSED AN AIR GUITAR....LOL GOD BLESS GRANDMA. MERRY CHRISTMAS ABRACADABRA đâ
Younger folks mostly know this song from âThe Wonder Yearsâ tv show. For those of us who grew up in the 60âs thus was part of our music.
This was my dad's favourite song (he died this year) but he'd always play it at parties and do Joe Cockers hand movements. Thanks for doing this for me dad. Best wishes.
My condolences, đ
This was a Beatles cover, one of two the other was She Came in Through the Bathroom Window, but I think he did a good job of both of them! Thanks for sharing and hope you and your family have fulfilling holidays!
Thank you, And Merry Christmas to you and yours
Well, it maybe because it's a Beatles song, and it was the theme song of "The Wonder Years."
a great one from Joe Cocker is "you can keep your hat on" live from dortmund 1982.. in addition to Joe's amazing vocals the sax player Deric Dyer kills it in this performance..
Another great one by Joe is Let's Go Get Stoned, a Ray Charles joint
You'll love it, guaranteed
The Woodstock clip is ICONIC!!!! You know this from The Wonder Years.
Check out his Woodstock performance. Blew the crowd outta the water! Little Richard introduced Blues and Rock to England while on tour and young artists like Joe Cocker emerged.
Will do
My older cousin followed Joe around the country, those were the days! He bummed rides from other fans and took a whole year out of college to devote to the band. Thank you, and Merry Christmas from Seattle
Great choice of song to bring us into Christmas day. thanks. Beatles song of course, but Joe made it his own.
Joe, a plumber by trade from Sheffield, was truly one of life's good folk. full of soul and hard living. kind and generous to the end.
That was it the wonder years. Joe Cocker is amazing. Many great songs to listen too. Great reaction. Thanks
I saw him do this song in concert in 1969. I didn't know who he was at the time. He blew my mind. Amazing.
Another Kick-Ass Wake n Bake anthem.
đŁđ„âđ
"Light it, Don't Hide it!"
đŻđ
đ, agreed
Happy trails Joe. Still an icon of the greatest generation..
You will never see an artist disappear into "his thing" more than Joe Cocker.
Joe Cocker is one of my favorites ... love his style.
Love Joe Cocker! For a guy that sang and he was high most of the time he was better than people who werenât smoking dope!
Love joe hes in his shit like crazy love to watch him do his thing
I feel you man. Great reaction to a man who sings with his entire soul.
Joe Cocker was the man. That soulful scream hits you right in the gut.
I like his version better than the Beatles
Indeed
My best friend and I as 14 little hippies me Joe Crocker when he was routing in our town
No. He was such a gentleman to us.We were so innocent and he was so kind.
The BEST cover of a Beatles song ever
You Can Leave Your Hat On , is another great song by this artist. Check it out
Definitely gonna check, been heavily requested
THIS IS MUSIC....USED TO WAKE UP ON SUNDAY MORNING AND PUT THIS ON AND CHILL! GREAT REACTION BRUH!
Great reaction! Love it. Some of my favorite Joe Cocker tunes are... Feeling Alright, You Can Leave Your Hat On(Official Video), Unchain My Heart. Merry Christmas! đâ€ïž
Love your reaction to this most famous song that all us singers and musicians sing and play to and with one another
Absolute classic of a cover by a great and unique artist
Joe was amazing at putting his own spin on other artists songs. Need to watch "Cry Me A River" from the Mad Dogs An Englishmen" tour, another great performance from Joe Cocker with Leon Russel.
Blows The Beatles out of the water!!
Great reaction!!
It was the theme song from the TV show "The Wonder Years". Absolutely you got it.
I think Elton had a song with Lucy in the sky that rivals the Beatles version as well but those are it for covering Beatles and meeting the standard. FEELIN ALL RIGHT is mandatory Joe Cocker. Rest in Peace JC and prosperous 2021 all!
Please do another Joe Cocker = You won't regret it.
We have dug this fellow-slash-fella for a very long time and season, dearsome-and-dearest Abracadabra
This was originally of 'The Beatles', but 'Joe-Joe' has that power of soulful re-interpretation, you betcha
And how you yourself does regularly host-feel-and-facilitate this good-yet-of-yester-year music
With thy voice, mellowness, Isaac Hayes look, complexion and vibe is ...'deeper-than-just-slick'.
And we do so appreciate-dig-and-love that added background-and-volcanic feature
Of the expressive-exploding-explosion that tells us what the song has done to yer ... (you)
This song was played at the beginning of âThe wonder Yearsâ love your channel!!
You never heard it before... you'll never forget it now âźïž
Wonder years theme! Always loved this song, one of my all time favorite tracks.
I'm 44 and recognize this from the tv show The Wonder Years
He's my favorite singer. The back up singers make it really good.youd like Bye Bye Blackbird
I will do that one , the guy is incredible
She Came In Through The Bathroom Window, Feelin' Alright, You Are So Beautiful, You Can Leave Your Hat On, Unchain My Heart, The Letter
I was privileged to see him at Woodstock 69. Just watch how his whole body reacts to the music. Awesome performance!
Joe Cocker, one of my favorite artists. He feels the music all through his body! Check out his, My Baby Wrote Me a Letter.
