România,păcat că nu-l asfaltează și reabilitează că ar fi un nou drum turistic montan fantastic, avem o tara frumoasa dar nu avem grije de EA ,Luam in calcul și batjocura de la Herculane ,Acolo cine plătește!!!

    Hello Mircea,
This Friday late afternoon and Saturday morning we plan to ride this route, from Orsova to Petrosani. Two Honda (Pan European 1997 and my wife on her NC750x 2021) with sport touring tires, loaded with camping gear.
If it doesn't rain...do you advise us to take that road?
    Regards
    Rado

Greeting. I don't recommend this route to you. Honda is heavy for the upper part of the route, where there are rocks on a sloping slope. For NC750 you need better tires for the area near the lake, there is mud

I recommend two variants of route on asphalt. Herculane, Baia de Aramă, Târgu Jiu, Petroșani; or Turnu Severin, Şiroca, Ponoarele (God's Bridge), Targu Jiu, Petroşani.

      Hello domnu Mircea,
      Thank you for your advice.
My last tire on the ST1100 was Heidenau K60 Scout rear and Pirelli Scorpion STR front. With that combination I could ride exactly the roads like 66A, but now I have Bridgestone T32 and, I guess, we have to really stick to the asphalt - like you suggest.
Our plan, after the first night, is to continue in direction to Voineasa, Brezoi, then 703M and 703H, 73C and 71 to reach Bucegi to camp. This should be all asphalt, I think.
After Bucegi we will go Covasna, Lepsa, Soveja and hopefully on 115 to Onesti. There we are going to meet a RO biker/friend who will help us find good roads to Bikaz, Vatra Dornei, Viseu de Sus, Sighet and Baia Mare. That should be our last camping in RO and we plan to reach Krakow in Poland the next day.
If you can think of any good mountain roads, suitable for us along this route - feel free to suggest, please.
      Multumesc.

The route is very beautiful. It has two difficult parts. There is mud on the shore of the lake. The second part, right at the top is sliding rock. With a little attention you can pass

@@mirceapetrutadventure Hello Mircea, thanks a lot for the nice offer to ride with me the 66A. It will be about the 17th day where I'm in Rumänia. At the moment the plan is, Aiud to Petrosani, then DN66/DC149 to Targu Jui, from there the DN67D to Herculane. By weather without rain and dry roads the 66A realy could be a possibility.
      Best regards
