Seeing the bald head of Lombardo running away celebrating a goal to the sound of the Gazzeta music completed Saturday mornings back in the day.
Yeah. Also Batman and The Turtles.
In my head I thought it was on a Sunday???
Sunday's were match day this was on at 10am Saturday m8
@mcvicarross7 ah cheers long time ago I forget lol
Lived for this programme as a kid and trans world sport lol
Oh how I miss growing up during the 90’s with Gazette Italia on channel 4…. simpler & happier times 👊🇮🇹⚽️
I remember it in the early 2000s
Im 28 now
James was a great host
Loved the show
Gooooooaaaaallazooooooo
@@sensibility1174🤔🐓💩
Brilliant programme.
I remember somehow being in the press box with James Richardson and Don Howe at Genoa v Milan, it mentally kicked off, Don Howe said i could go back in the car with them to Milan...Richardson said it wasn't going to happen so i was pretty p*ssed off really......maybe it was karma as outside i saw him (Richardson only) get done in by Genoa fans🤷🏻♂️
Take me back to the very early 1990’s!!!
James Richardson, brilliant presenter...Great show, great memories
Always had a hangover watching this.
Same, I was 8
@@chchedda😅😅😅
I used to ❤ this programme 😊 when Italian football was the best league in the world !
Can we all share appreciation for Gazza’s shirt?
Thought it was a retro Germany goalkeeper jersey at first haha. Also he looks scalded with the weather
Gazetta on a Saturday morning and the match on a Sunday afternoon after I’d played Sunday league
Great times
How old you now 58
@user-sz8km9dy5v a bit weird asking people their age. Not everyone is a kid like you believe it or not.
@@user-sz8km9dy5v I’m your mums age
not only the greatest saturday morning ever ...sunday afternoons with the legendary peter brackley..god bless him...
Those Sunday afternoon matches seemed to last forever! Bloody brilliant.
Growing up in the 90’s and falling in love with Italian Football, I’ve found that I still prefer watching it to the premier league, even though the finances have eclipsed Serie A, the passion, stadiums and style are still there, it’s part of the culture. James Richardson still presents it on TNT sports too! Although he doesn’t sip cappuccino in the piazzas with the newspapers anymore unfortunately 😁
Absolutely right
Ruben Sosa with one of the best free kicks you’ll ever see.
This takes me back. I love Gazzetta on at 10am Saturday morning, then the 14:00 kick off Sunday afternoon. Always looked forward to this, as the only football on TV pretty much. Series A the best league in the world at the time
Thank you for the beautiful memories.. keep these videos coming please
Saturdays and Sundays back in the day. Pure class chilling watching football italia the players in that league was just different class.
I remember watching George Weah's solo goal live in 96 and just turning to my pal and laughing, we just sat there for 5 minutes in silence.
God I miss the 90's.
I use to call this show GoaLazio when I was a kid lol loved it
And Gazza Etta too
We all did, we all did... 😊
One of Channel 4's finest offerings ❤️😎
What days these were ❤
I use to tune in every Sunday for the match and the football was on a different planet compared to today's five a side football style
Serie A in the 80s/90s was lit.
1988 Milan are probably one of the best club sides to ever play the game.
great times, best league in the world🇮🇹🇮🇹
Yes it was
The narrative was "boring, defensive, too technical" then this show came along and we saw just what was going on week-in week-out in that league. Phenomenal players, phenomenal football, phenomenal goals and yes, phenomenal defenses too. It just blew away the hoofball that was the English league at the time.
Saturday mornings watching this was just awesome…then the games on a Sunday! Thank you Channel 4
Soo many memories channel 4 Sunday afternoons straight after kabadi lol was the best league in the world at that time some of the players you'd see every week amazing.
Amazing days, watched this stunning programme every weekend,💯👏🔥❤️
Oh how I miss The 90s
Bring back Gazzeta Football Italia!
Leave the past in the past, great memories and times.
Used to watch this as a young kid on a Sunday in my bedroom…. The good old days
Growing up, my friend and I used to play a thing called football Italia. This involved one slide tackling the other, but the other had to pull off the most elaborate dive. It was all fun of course, but not so much when his dad would wake up for a nightshift and realise what we'd done to the grass in his garden.
Sorry Gordon.
We loved this show. I loved my Italian football in the 90s.
This was my Saturday morning sorted for an hour and a half.
We've had our best years as a human race. Right now we're doomed but anyone old enough will remember the good old day's
Indeed, glad I was a kid then and not now, what do the younguns have now, shit music, shit fashion, shit films, shit football players, shit all round.
Absolutely iconic music and intro.
At begin of 90s Gazza was one of best footballers on planet! My favourite English player all time
What incredible times and memories. Thank you for uploading.
Blast from the past! Big this chn4 back in the day😫
Love it, memories brought back with the theme tune
Awesome times loved watching this every Sunday!
Sorry Saturday morning show then Sunday game live
I'm certain this is why I love italo music and 90s dance music 😂🪩
God this brings back memories.
Jack O'connell for sure will play this man in a Gazza biopic, thought it was him on the thumbnail!
Loved football Italia on a Sunday it really was a super Sunday not like the 💩now, every team seemed to have superstars then great times and world cup Italia 90 is my favourite world cup especially Roberto Baggio solo goal.
So many good memories ❤
There were some great goals in this episode! Not least the two stunning free kicks from Sosa in the opening game. @45:48 An interesting transfer that, as things turned out, never occurred; Stoichkov going to Napoli.
Although gutted with the result, I feel lucky to have witnessed one of these great players from this era in J-P Papin when he was at Bayern Munich playing against Nottm Forest.
Klinsmann was also in that side but think he must have been at Spurs when this episode went out.
All those other names come flooding back as well, Signori, Winter, Doll, Sosa, Branca, Mancini…..Walker! 🌳
you reds! 🌳
He was with Monaco
We were missed thanks bro
Thanks for sharing. This is a real gem 🙏🏼
Brings back many happy childhood memories, goal laaaaaaaaaazo ❤
wow how the time then was so simple. loved my sundays football italia then back onto phantasy star online dreamcast :)
Ah, back when there were some serious ballers, and tasty fouls… rather than just athletes playing in systems
There are pros and cons in both eras. Today's athletes are fitter, more disciplined and more athletic but back then they were better with the ball, far tougher mentally and desperately wanted to win for their badge. For me peak football was the mid 90s - mid 00s, but old heads argue it was before the Prem League ever came about, which I get
What sort of term is 'ballers' FFS??
@@chiselcheswick5673 a “baller” is very skilful creative player. It’s much shorter and easier to type than “very skilful creative player”.
Serie A = Number 1 championship at that time
today's kids just have Liga and Premier on their minds but it was different back then
Peter Brackley was a brilliant commentator.
He really was..
Love it thank you❤
Awesome channel. I've actually got the theme tune on vinyl from way back!
Great days
Lotto boots with the green, Batistuta, 7up shirts.
Where has 30 years gone?
6yr old me,"Gooooal Lazio! " 😂
Some right names there! Great to see Des Walker getting continuously skinned 🤣
Thought that was jack o Connell when I first saw it. 😂😂
Brilliant football channel 👍
gazza 'is been a good week, apart from the sending off, that is' literally the only reason he is in Italy, to play football 😅
11:26 what a goal by the way…
Anglo Italian 🇮🇹 cup lol. I remember going to a couple of those Games. Always ending up with shed loads of Yellow and Red cards lol. I think the suspension for the cards didn’t carry over to the domestic competitions.
We’ve gotta bring this back, where’s the petition????
wikkid theme tune! heavy in the dance, top buzz
How on earth was Hagi playing for Brescia then? Madness
2:10 what a ridiculous goal
Remember the goal of the week competition was like impossible to pick the best one as they were all screamers.
How was that a red for Gazza??
Rrrr eh rrrrrr rrrrrrrrr eh
Anyone else do this to the music or just me 😂
"Following a pre-season tournament in Genoa that August, Lentini, aged 24, was traveling at a reported 125mph in a canary-yellow Porsche 911 that crashed along the A21 highway; he was driving from Genoa to Turin to see his then-girlfriend, Rita Bonaccorso, the then-wife of Juventus striker Salvatore Schillaci
Lentini (whose car suffered a puncture that was replaced by a service station attendant with skinnier wheel not able to exceed 50mph) was dragged from the wreckage seconds before it caught fire and was placed in an induced coma for two days; he fractured his skull and damaged an eye socket. He returned to the pitch at the end of the 1993-94 season, playing sporadically as Milan retained their league title, won the Champions League, and finished runners-up in the Intercontinental Cup."
You just know that mug was full of brandy
La Gazzetta Dello Sport aka The Pink Newspaper!!
I remember gazza with his face mask... always a theatrical experience watching this ! Strongest man is from shit ! Wheres me hair !
In Ireland on Monday nights goal lazio 😂 the best league in the world then and like VAR now bout 10 mins injury time 😂😂 Definate nostalgia alot less football ⚽️ on TV bit think it was better and more competitive Forza Italia!
The first ever champions league
Last weekends 29 goals lol
Creía era el canelo alvarez 😅
James with hair?
I think it’s safe to say Gazza being in Italy helped to spearhead englands interest in serie A
Never a red card
Red card?! Never!
this is why kids u shudnt do drugs, i dont think alcohol made him fall quick, i think it was other drugs.
funny how all these italian football stadiums have running tracks, yet Italy are crap at athletics.
Thank you sooooooo much for this ❤️🤍💚 put every episode online please
