Always loved this track in the mansion room upstairs with the fish tank; "these claw marks weren't made by a zombie" and "the footprints seem to go right through the bed" followed by a camera angle from UNDER the bed. Subtle, beautiful artistry and poetry intertwines the gameplay.
@@thecolddeath92 it's supposed to be ambiguous mate. Of course the character knows about crimson heads as they've already faced them, but they haven't seen a hunter yet. So the claw marks could allude to anything. It's the fear of the unknown. The game is masterful at ambient story telling
This music always has me imagining myself buried in dark research notes, uncovering the Umbrella conspiracy and coming to realise the horror that went on under the estate.
I'm not really a fan of RE3. People like to shit on 4 for setting the path for action RE but 3 did that before 4. The only semblance of horror 3 had left were the Nemesis sections, but that was it. The rest of the game felt more like an action game than a survival horror game. 4 only doubled down on the action from 3 and even then, it was a way better game, in my opinion.

Know what would make a great TV series? The events in the Resident Evil mansion before, and leading up to, the outbreak. How do you keep a place like that quiet? What kind of horrible people can work there? What happens to the folks who want out? Where do they get their test subjects? I'm not much for anti-heroes but the mansion has a personality all of its own, and is worth exploring. The final season could be the events of the game.
wiilover07 Thanks for the heads up. I went and read a bit on Destructoid. I am not impressed with their premise. Another cop show? Let's delve into the lives of the damned and the doomed. We can have a few heroes too - but they'll probably be doomed too.
I agree with this! I definitely want a prequel to the prequel (Resident evil 0). Afterall, the outbreak did occur on May 11 1998--the STARS Bravo and Alpha teams didn't come into play until July 25th/26th. The diaries of the researchers, though brief, contain so much mystery to be answered to! This is definitely a great concept with so much potential. I can imagine it being a three-series story arc, one that would potentially lead into a film franchise that will closely follow the games.
Being a movie buff myself, I have come up with some of my own ideas for films in my head (including my own hypothetical movie adaptation for "Resident Evil" and one for "Resident Evil 2") and made, for each one, a series of storyboard-like PowerPoint Presentations to describe them scene-by-scene. Having just started learning how to manage video-editing software and uploading my own CZcams videos, I have decided to take those presentations I made in years past and convert them into video format (with sound-effects, snippets of in-game dialogue, music, and game cutscenes spliced in). I plan to at least finish converting all 30 presentations for my first "Resident Evil" movie into videos within a 2-3 weeks, so I can upload them all on my channel, if anyone would like to see them. During both the making of both my RE and RE2 fan-projects in my spare time, I did at points try to delve more deeply into the backstory of Umbrella, Spencer, John Clemens, the trial-and-error experiments with the Tyrant Virus, William Birkin, etc. I also tried to add some development to elements such as the T-002 Tyrant (in my version, I had that specific Tyrant be portrayed more as an actual character, with some personality and a backstory that could almost give Lisa Trevor's a run for its money), William Birkin's reasons for joining Umbrella and wanting to create the G-Virus, and Spencer's ultimate goals for his distorted Utopian society. In all these cases incorporated some lore from the files you can pick up and the later Resident Evil games after the first two. Ideally, I think the best idea would be to make a few live-action movies to lay the groundwork (RE1, RE2, and maybe a RE: Code Veronica adaptation), recreate the events of the later spin-offs and main games through a TV show (similar perhaps to how they did "Primeval," "Game of Thrones," "Agents of SHIELD," "The Walking Dead," etc.) For making original stories, I think the animated films are doing a good job of that.
hey bro I used to skip that part. but when I play the remastered I version I decide to do sth for Chris before he gets into the fight with that giant plant (so that I can save more ammo for the hunters later). The stupid door password panel is even more annoying than the V-JOLT part LOL!
Dear God the suspense this delivers! It's like we know we're in a safe puzzle room, but this track makes you just certain there's SOMETHING wrong just waiting for you!
Ugh... finishing that bee puzzle only for THAT to happen? As someone who played re2 remake repeatedly until all fear was drained from the experience, playing re1 was a whole new beast. The lack of control as compared to re2re caused an intense sense of dread throughout the entire game. I got used to re2re, but I don't think I'll ever walk into a room in re1re, hear the *PF PF PF PF* of a previously downed zombie and not pause to catch my breath for a full minute. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
This theme is perfect for exploring the Spencer estate. Such an air of mystery, something only the first game as well as this perfect remake could pull off

This reminds me of the basement level of the recreational center of the college I went to. Not sure why. But I first played this game my 3rd year in high school and Everytime I went down the recreational centers basement, this would pop in my head. Because the basement was where most of the sports stuff were. The basketball gym, the bowling alley, racquet ball court, swimming pool and the weight room.
A while back, I was listening to this with headphones on at 3am with the lights off. I thought I was alone. Then, my gf silently came up behind me and softly tapped me on my shoulder. Words cannot describe how fucking scared I was.
Oh my god the Guardhouse music! It creeped me out something rotten on the original Resident Evil on Playstation and when I heard it again in the remake I experienced a weird mix of nostalgia and a double dose of creepy. I think I will be picking this up on Steam, such a great survival horror experience.
True, Zero wasn't as scary. However, the puzzles were still ridiculously clever. This room evokes images of matching waveforms and configuring voltage supplies to power a basement.... the good old days.
Is it just me or do anyone else hear similarities between this song and the Safe room theme? Of course it is very distorted and has a completely different theme to it, but the way the tune raises in pitch and drops at roughly the same moments as in the safe room song. I dunno, I might be overthinking it.

It's scary. One of my favorite resident evil music pieces. You feel like there is something evil in this place. You are the only normal human left in this place. There are monsters trying to tear you to pieces.
Check me if I'm wrong but this plays in: East Wing 2F - Fish tank / wind crest room & small bedroom next to it East Wing 2F - picture frame wall with hole that leads to trevor's tombstone West Wing 2F - room with red gem and yellow gem Residence - Room 001 & Room 003
The people you thought you knew have betrayed you. They are the reason you and your family are trapped in this dark labyrinth with no exit. But still, you don't give up. You're determined to see your family again, to escape your prison, to bring the monsters in white lab coats that tricked you to justice. You've been lost in the maze for... you don't even know how long anymore. Your dwindling supplies all gone, your will to live all but faded, your strength to move sapped from your frail body. All you can do is sit and listen to the grotesque monsters in the maze with you as they attempt to break the barrier that separates you from them. Suddenly, your eyes catch something shining in the dark. A small glimmer of hope fills your heart. Perhaps the exit you been looking for, finally in your grasp? Lighting your last match, you see a gravestone... *a gravestone with your name on it.* Dropping the match, you are once again surrounded in darkness. Fear and frustration fill your head. Once again, you fell for the trap the monsters in lab coats left for you. Like a rat to a crumb of cheese. You realize that there is no escape for you. This is where you will die, this is where your family will die. Having lost all will to go on, you slink to the door and open it, allowing the monsters outside inside your grave, to your final resting place. The monsters make quick work of you, ripping, tearing, devouring. Very little is left of you. Whatever is left, picks itself up from the floor and joins the ranks of the monsters as they hunt for other lost souls within the dark maze. You are dead, but your suffering has only just begun. *You and your family will never be allowed to rest. You will never know peace.*

@@SamsarasArt Yep, forgot about that one.
*a gravestone with your name on it.*
Dropping the match, you are once again surrounded in darkness.
You will never know peace.*
this plays when the room has something to do with umbrella and Wesker

classic soundtrack from resident evil 1.. scary and dark
I just beat RE3 Remake and I'm about to rerun through this beautiful game. Jill is honestly such a great character. Both games are amazing but man if they remake this I really hope they take there time and make RE1 remake perfect because this is the game that started it all and probably what many think of as the best resi game.
um salve do brasil!
Love this tune
This is the new thinking music 😂
I tried convincing my friend to play this game with me. at first he hated it with all the confusing controls but after a while he loved it and after a long month finally beat it. awesome game
Reading this while looking up cases of people missing in national forests is unnerving.
Agreed. This is my favorite tune.
