  • The Finale Of Attack On Titan Has Finally Aired! Now was it a masterpiece? I have been following AOT throughout its entire 13 year run. I believe it’s sage to say it will be fondly remembered as one of the greatest series, let alone anime to grace the planet ever. I don’t believe MAPPA’s decision to spread the final season into multiple parts/releases harmed the story at all! For those of you who saw my video reacting to the manga’s ending, I wasn’t too big of a fan of it when it had initially released. Has my opinions on the ending changed now that’s it’s been animated? Join us today as we discuss!
(PS. I’m still on vacation so this video was recording on my phone please bare with the quality ❤️)

I heard in an interview that the author wanted the ending to make it seem like it's hopeless, and the author then said one of his inspirations was the movie "the mist" which has a tragic ending. The book implies the ending but doesn't spell it out, the movie showed an ending that is, disturbing

I doubt eren would return as the new founder. The new founder would be the boy who walked into the tree and made contact with the hallucigenia

Ymir was still controlling the Titan power after she died

@@JahMakesNerdies There should be no connection between eren and the boy. Ymir walked into that cave at the beginning and became the founder. After she died she became "trapped" in the paths because she could not let go of her love. But she was freed from that at the end of the series and she passed away completely. The legacy ends there, there is no founder anymore. The boy in the future would become the new founder. If he dies, he will probably create new paths if he also cant pass on like ymir. Erens story ended after the last episode but the titan powers live on. You could say they lived on trough erens body that is buried there, but that is just the thing that was also infesting ymir, not eren himself

@@PressurePD The problem with the ending (among other nonsense) is that it's pointless to have a new Founder at this point as the boy will just roam around until he gets nuked. Humanity has already surpassed the power of the Founder. Drop one Nuke and boom dead... a Flying Titan is no match for a Jet. The storyline is already past 2000s technology... I don't know what sequel you can make from this. Unless it is Mecha Titans or something.

@@triton5336 There are possibilities. I think its fair to assume that not many humans still live in that abandoned land. It also looks like all the technology is lost after the wars that took place. Its like they bombed themselves back to the old times. At least it looks like that to me.
Another point is what zeke said to Armin: Ymir developed titan powers as a form of evolution. She adapted to the danger she felt. She wanted to be big and powerful, so that no human could hurt her. At that time nothing could come close to harming her. She also wanted to flee and escape into freedom, where no death existed. And where she could seek "connection" Thats how the paths were created. I think the real powers of the worm god can alter a lot from person to person, and they will also adjust to the time they are awakened
The powers of the boy in the future could be a lot different to the titan powers we know of

@@PressurePD The problem with that concept means Eren could have Asked Ymir to change the way it works and he could have gotten the power necessary to solve his issues but doesn't. It makes the Hallucigenia seem omnipotent and limited by Ymir's small mindset. Eren wanted the power to change things but doesn't because he is a Slave to freedom or whatever. He had all the power and did nothing so that stakes hold but it just means there never was any stakes and makes the entire Humanity getting stronger plotline not true.
Makes the Rumbling pointless and everything avoidable... limitations the Hallucigenia was a good thing now it seems like the story ended the way it did because of a script. All of it is just a mess of convolution which just went too far so much so that the story lost all semblance of reality. The Paths and Time travel was all fine because of rules but now we throw all that rules away and make the worm God it just means the story is conceived out of contrived reasons. If she wanted to be big and powerful why a Titan? If she wanted Freedom and escape why did she appear in the paths when it is a form of prison that she was waiting for someone to free her? The ending is a narrative, thematic and logical failure... it does so much while saying so little... it's just baffling.
