is there any way I can make my a Tesla make a flutter blow off valve sound affect. Like the stustsustu in a Supra ???
@@robertplayz9160 did u figure it out Robert ?? That would be sick
why does it not let me partition itcan someone help me
The Purge siren is terrifying!! haha I would love to see peoples reactions to that one!
I've got some fun videos planned for when it's warmer lol
@@Sibs Cant wait!
That Purge sound has been my phone ringtone for years 😂. Great video mate, shame we don’t have the feature here.
Hahaha that's awesome. Sure it freaks out some people 🤣
It’s my alarm clock. It does the job
AMAZING!! I saw around 4 tutorials and none of them worked, but this one did work!! THANK YOU SO MUCH :) very detailed... LOVE THIS. LOL, I can't wait to use crazy sound hahaha.
Great video as always, stud! A couple minor issues when I was trying to setup my custom sounds before I saw your video: 1) the file names "might" need to be without spaces; 2) I think you can only upload 5 custom songs; 3) my original files were in a M4A format. I had to convert them to MP3 (with an online converter). After resolving these issues, I got my custom files to appear in my Boombox dropdown ... prior to that, they were only available in the Music/USB section.
Thanks! Glad you got it worked out! My files were .wav format and those worked too, except for that one I mentioned.

use underscores to space it out servers and pc's don't like spaces
Thank you!!! I've been looking for an answer on how to do this for a few weeks and you did a great job explaining the process.
THANKS! Did this for my M3LR via macbook.
By the way @Alex Sibila, you can't have spaces in the file song names. That may be why one wasn't showing for you!
@@MachitoLFC nice tip Luis, thanks for that
@@dustintravis8791 You're very welcome!
I followed the video and the sound clips show up in Boombox but my the Dashcam is showing i have to format the USB drive.
Hi Beth, did you fix that issue ? I have the same problem
@@christiantager8700 No. didn’t get it to work. ☹️
Great video man! been looking around and havent found one that is very detailed on how to do everything, Love it keep up the great work@!
I appreciate it!
I finally got it to work! I was able to do lock chime sounds but not horn. I’ve been trying for the last two weeks and haven’t been able to get it. I followed your video exactly and the only thing that I had to change was the format to ExFAT not MS-DOT (FAT). I have 2023 model 3 so maybe it’s different now? Not sure! Thank you!!
Im wondering if tesla changed something. I also have 2023 m3 and this worked for me a few months ago, but i got a new ssd and it no longer works
This is the exact tutorial I needed -- Worked great! Thanks very much.
Awesome, good to hear!
If Sentry Mode is not showing, make sure you created a folder called "TeslaCam" if you didn't transfer old files over :)
Thanks...useful for the Tesla USB and for other formatting emergencies on the Mac!
Thanks for the tutorial, just updated late last night, can’t wait to play with this! What file types did you use?
Awesome, thanks! These are .wav but I believe .mp3 works too
Is ur tsla range and temperature on your MacOS top menu bar? HOW?!?! :D ty for the tips - they are greeeatttt!
I followed everything exactly and….it worked great!!!! Thank you!
Thank you for this video!!! Very information and right to the point!
Where did you download the thing that shows you your range and battery percentage on your desktop at the top of the screen?
Great tutorial! Thanks so much!
I followed each of your steps and when I go to plug the drive back in, my sentry mode will not pop back up
Thanks!
FYI, "FAT" is File Allocation Table and "DOS" is Disk Operating System
good to know!
Super great walkthrough for dum-dums like me! tHanKs!
No problem 👍
Very helpful. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Great little tutorial, Alex! Where did you go to download most of your sound clips? Thank you so much, as always, Alex Now, if only Elon comes up with a way to retrofit the "OLD" Model 3's to add a wiring harness and a speaker! The easy part is removing the plastic panel and drilling all of the speaker holes.
I got most of those from youtube and converted them to .wav !
@@Sibs Such a smart young man!
@@Sibs how do you convert CZcams vids to WAV.
All I found are a bunch of shady websites
ummmm... My sentry mode is stored to a tesla jump drive... This isn't in my car and the drive is a usb-a. What am I missing??
Hello,
I followed your instructions however my files only show up in the usb section but not in my Toybox.
Thiught
Please advise
Same
Where do you download all the sounds from?
anywhere
Thanks, Alex. It may be trivial, but can you do a video of how you got your sound files and converted them to .wav? thanks
Just downloaded from youtube and opened them in davinci resolve, then exported as .wav
I believe it accepts .mp3 as well and there are lots of online converter tools that will do that for youtube videos!
is there any way I can make my a Tesla make a flutter blow off valve sound affect. Like the stustsustu in a Supra ???
I didnt have a Scheme Option when erasing.
It's weird that no one has answered this....lol
Looking for the Autobot transform sound effect
Cool... that is one of the best features in the car hhhhh
thanks for the sound suggestions!
@@Sibs you welcom
Awesome thanks worked perfectly
Love this! Question though - do the custom sounds also work while driving? Or is this just all in PARK? Curious if you can have a FART horn on the highway?
The custom horn does not work while in drive, but I believe the driving sounds work at any speed
@@Sibs yep the engine sounds work at any speed
Super helpful video!
Thank you so much!!!!! 🙏🏽
So much fun that we're allowed to use our own sounds! I wonder if the cops would have any part of that though?
It does say "check local laws before use" so Tesla isn't liable lol
@@Sibs Haha nice. That makes sense
I have a different SSD for dashcam... can I use the USB drive only for boombox plugged in the centre console ? 2021 model Y! Let me know thanks!!!!
@alexsibila were you able to figure out why all of your songs did not transfer over?
Actually I just figured it out after reading a couple of comments. The file names were too long. I shortened them considerably and they showed up.
Thanks.
note to Tesla - Drive needs to be divided into 4 sounds - Reverse, Accelerate, Idle/Cruise, Decelerate - Someone suggest it to Elon. Imagine if you will: Reverse the Jupiter 2 crash howl, Accelerate - Jupiter 2 liftoff, Idle/Cruise - Jupiter 2 cruise, Decelerate - Jupiter 2 landing. The possibilities are endless.
great vid. i ran into issues in the formatting partition step to MS-DOS FAT. Error: POSIX reports: The operation couldn't be completed. No such file or directory.:(2) Operation failed...
figured it out. it was case sensitive. need to name the volumes with ALL CAPS for MS DOS FAT format.
Someone help! My partition button is grayed out!
Same have you found a solution?
A little late but does anyone know if the driving sounds change pitch as you drive (or if you can make it do that)?
What app on the Mac are you using to see stats on your Tesla?
It's called "Stats Menu Bar: For Tesla Cars" from the same developer that makes the Tesla Stats App for iPhone. I think they've got one that can control your car via your mac too!
So what’s the shortest/longest an audio file can be and are there any restrictions on file size?
When and if i get one i will change it to the cloaker scream
I where do we find mp3 or wav sounds to download.
What year is your Tesla ? I see you have the silver trim so is is 2018-2020 ?
Yeah it's a 2020 model. Took delivery in November of 2019.
Awesome!Thanks
Great video! I have the same issue with only 4 of the 5 files showing up. Let us know if you figure this one out.
That's really strange! I wonder if partitioning the drive does this
@Alex Sibila, Hi I followed your instructions and I can't open the dashcam viewer anymore. It's MS Plaid, could you please help ?
I would double check everything is formatted correctly and in the fat32 format
does ExFAT works? or has to be MS-DOS FAT?
Hi when you go to change to FAT format at 4:15 mine does not have the option to click partition on the sub categories weve created ( TeslaCam and Boombox ). So i cant switch it to the FAT format. Any ideas?
Hi very helpful video. I was able to get sounds on my boombox. However when I plug my Tesla usb back into the car, the dash cam icon is not appearing? Is it not on now? Please help!!!
I would plug back in to your computer and confirm both partitions are showing up, and then confirm in disc utility that both are formatted correctly as shown in the video
I did it today it seems not to be working anymore and it fucked my ssd it not working in Tesla anymore
Wow. I followed your instructions to a T and my 2020 model 3 isn't recognizing the clips within toybox!! No idea what's happening.
The recent software releases haven't been working with the USB dashcam very well... Some sort of software issue on Tesla's end. I've had issues with mine not recognizing as well
@@Sibs Yeah...have noticed that, but it's seemed to correct itself?
I guess this is a mute video now thanks to the feds. is there a way around the update that removed most of boombox.?
I only have horn sound ?
Do you have a video of where you got the sound from (site)? And how you saved and put it in the drive?
Just random ones, but be careful downloading
I followed this video and now my sentry mode does not let me view the recordings. Do you know why? For example, it will say “2 events occurred” but if I click it it says Check USB drive
Tesla has been having issues with USB recently, so likely a Tesla issue. Can't say for certain in your specific case though
Tried going thru your steps with the included Tesla Y jump drive included in the glove box. The “partition” function is grey and not functional. I’m using a 2014 MacBook Pro to try and reformat and partition the original jump drive. Thoughts?
Probably need another drive that isn't from Tesla. The one I used is linked in the description
I get an error message “ Process has failed” Help!!!
You can't have spaces in the file name. That's why the "AMONG US CRISIS.wav" sound didn't show up.
Got it! Thanks
Omgggg I have to wait now 2 hours for my Tesla cam to go back on the flash drive SMH
Is it possible that in my 2019 lr with fsd, premium interior and sound system that’s I still don’t have the option?
2019 cars didn't have the external speaker. Does your car make the reverse noise when traveling at low speeds?
I have a 21 Model 3 LR. I just tried doing this on my Mac and Partition was not a highlighted option in disk utility. Any suggestions?
probably need to format the drive first before you partition it. I think I cover that in this video
Couldn't I just use another seperate drive just for the sounds? Leave the camera one in the glove box and plug the sound one in the console?
Yes you can! I don't have any USB ports available so this was easier for me.
@@Sibs ok perfect but my sounds don't show up in the list. I made sur to format to EXfat and to not leave spaces in the names of the mp3 sound clips. I named the file Boombox. Why isn't it still working? Can you help
Great video, btw, there can't be any space in the names of the sound.
Good to know! I'll need to try that and see if it fixes my issue
do you need a usb cable in the tesla compartment? mine didn’t come with one
You might have USB C and I think they changed the location of it
@@Sibs I don’t have either,
Can I do this same thing with the Tesla USB that came with my car?
Probably!
@@Sibs It does not work! I followed the steps perfectly and now my model 3 does not recognize my usb stick for dashcam.
Dang. You can reformat it in the touchscreen if you need to reset it to normal.
How do I find on models x
Do the files have to be .wav in order for Tesla to play them. My files are Mp3 and are not showing up when I reinsert the thumbdrive.
Please advise.
The file names can't have spaces in them, not sure about the file type though.
Where can I download those clips ? If I wanna make my own what format should it be ?
Just search the sound you want and ".mp3"
@@Sibs thank you
What teslas does this work for ??
All new ones. Older model S&X don't have it
the fifth one has spaces in the name
I’m 14 teen and I’m so going to get a Tesla someday
awesome! that's a great goal!
where do you download the files from
Just googled the sound I wanted and ".mp3"
i set my dad's tesla as amogus
How do u do the model x
Not sure if it has this capability
Not in Thai Teslas sadly
that parking of your car just annoys me
You sound like Kermit the Frog lol
I COULD NOT DO IT. YOU R GOING TOO FASTTTTTTTT. SLOW DOWN FOR BEGINNERS
If you're watching on desktop you can playback at half speed, or just pause after every step
So helpful thanks!
Sure thing!
