I always buy a fresh cigar for a serious camping trip. Good stuff.

I like the idea of compact kits. Lots of options with these types especially because, in theory, they can be waterproof

next time you pack one of these, run a bit of floss or thread as a sling on the outside of the cedar liner so you can pull your gear out

If you buy/use Nuun tabs (for sugar-free electrolytes in water), their waterproof containers are a bit "roomier", for more stuff in those.
You can also use a popsicle stick cut in half lengthwise, to wrap "cordage", 50# spiderwire, tape some small hooks, pinch weights, and fireplugs onto it before wrapping the cordage around it, etc., then just make sure it is cut for the length of the tube.
You can also chuck in some cork (from a corkboard) to use as floats/bobbers, and with a magnetized needle to make a crude "compass", but it also adds to the buoyancy of the tube (in case you fall out of a boat, lose your stuff "overboard" from a canoe/row boat/ship/etc.).
You can put matches, exacto blades wrapped with Gorilla tape/duct tape, etc., in there too.
You can Gorilla glue, or epoxy, to connect a piece of cork with a length of 50# spiderwire, and put it in first, so you can pull it up from the bottom, to retrieve all of your supplies by sliding them up.
    Just some ideas....

Heat and pinch one end of a drinking straw, pour the electrolyte powder in, cut to length, heat and pinch the other end. Should be just shy of 5 inches.

just use some of the auto repair steel JB weld epoxy to attach the button compos to the outside of the lid. just use a bit of sand paper to rough both surfaces up mix a dab of the epoxy apply attach clamp, rubber band, or vise to hold it while it cures. won't ever come off lol. used some to attach shelf brackets to a cheap baking sheet tray, then command strips to attach an old laptop monitor to the sheet tray to use it as an additional monitor with a driver board from ebay. jurry rigging is rather effective ;).

Nice setup. Now in gonna have to get a cigar in a tube now lol. What if you were to trade the cordage inside out with fishing line or dental floss? Might get more with less volume.

something nobody ever does: Wrap fish hooks up in the duct tape... I'd rather have fish hooks than just about anything...
