Been using this method all week using the tips from your last video it works great for Ppg Envirobase
Thanks again for all of your tips!!!
Have a great weekend..
this is almost how axulta cromax pro is sprayed. 1 and a half coats, blow dry then clear. great video
Nice video like always...awesome
Wait wow this is very different from what ppg rep told us one wet coat then half trigger coat and that was that ?
Hi Gabe, well that looks Nice!! Nice!! Nice!!😁great job once again and the finish you get from your base and clearcoat is simply amazing. I'm just a hobby/diy painter I do have a paint scheme but it's just a solvent based system.
Your PPG scheme does seem very complex with all the additives and modifiers you use I just don't understand why they are all needed🤔other water based systems don't seem to need them but what do I know I'm no expert🤷♂😂John UK
Iam sure ppg is the most complicated paint scheme to understand such a lot of modifiers and options I would have my job finished using Lechler before you have decided what products to use and mixed them, nice job though Gabe
So when would rhe 4900 he available?
Started trying this method with Sikkens and works crazy good! Still waiting on your video for spraying tricoats with this method and tricks!
Bro can you explain me what you’re using to paint sikkens that way? Im going to start using sikkens. Do you change your aditives?
I spray it the same way he shows reducing 20% for solid colors 30% for metallics. I’ll say make sure you don’t lay the first coat on too heavy which is an issue when first trying this. Let that first coat start flashing and when you see that blue tint look fading (but still wet) give it that second coat. Just be careful with reds that take 527 tint because it hates being laid too heavy causing a reaction that looks like there was wax on the panel. I say that because on those reds give it a little extra time to flash so you aren’t putting so much product on top on each other causing that reaction.
Well I’m going to give it a shot what you really think about Sikkens is any good? Have you ever sprayed spies hecker or chromax?
Thank you so much for answering!
I personally think sikkens is great! Sealers come in multiple colors and the clear coats are great! Also if you are in a production shop i’d recommend getting the UV primer in Rattle can or it comes sprayable out of a gun but for small repairs or even medium size one it’s great. I haven’t used those brands, I used to spray what he’s spraying in this video I believe ppg envirobase. I’d take sikkens over that any day and hearing from other painters in the area that have tried sikkens over other water based paints love it
I'm using imperium which is based on autowave. Does sikkens black spray different? It's especially odd on sealer. I have to start with a control coat or it's like alligator texture. I might try putting binder down first next time. Imperium can easily run first coat so no idea if this would work. May do a test panel to see.
Nice
Hey Gabe , when you do this application does it still match the ppg paint chips?
Probably since air pressure is the same. Putting it in wet won’t change the color only air pressure and coverage will
